Assignment Title: Q1 Mid-unit resume

Student Writing Goal: My writing goal is to be able to stay on topic and try to improve on my grammar. My grammar
has always been something I struggle on which I hope that can change this year. Another goal of mine is score at least
an 80% or higher on my assessments.

Instructions:
1) Re-read the paper (and teacher feedback).
2) Complete this reflection sheet.
3) Revise the paper accordingly and highlight any changes.
4) Submit the revision and this reflection sheet.

What was the purpose of this writing assignment?

- The purpose of this writing assignment was to get an idea of what is expected in a resume when
applying for a job. When it comes to applying for a job you have to know your own skills and abilities
and with that it shows what were capable of doing.

How did you perform in relation to the expectations of the writing rubric?
- I think I did alright on my resume due to the fact that I didn’t have any experience. Although I didn’t have any
experience, I was able to point out my skills and abilities to show how I could fit perfectly for the job.

What aspect of this piece did you do well? (give example/quotes to support claims)
- I could agree that I did well on listing my skills and abilities to let them get a figure of what I’m capable of
doing. For example, I mentioned that I was bilingual and wrote what two languages I spoke.

Why have you/haven’t you chosen to revise this writing assignment?

- I didn’t revise much on my resume because I was very clear about what I can do. To this day I could say that I
did provide what was needed such as my skills and abilities along with my experiences.

What will you do better in your next writing assignment, and how will I do it?
- In my next writing assignment, I will provide new experiences. In my previous resume I didn’t write many
experiences due to me not having a job. I never did apply for any jobs because my parents wouldn’t allow me
to work. They wanted me to stay focused on school and work with them on our family business which was
only on weekends.

To what degree of success did you achieve your previously stated goal(s)?
- I believe that I did achieve some goals throughout this assignment. I do also believe that I should try
something new such as doing community service or volunteer in anything which would look even better on
my resume.
