Assignment Title: Q3 Mid Unit (Macbeth Society)

Student Writing Goal: My goal in this quarter is to achieve my pass goals in this class before graduation. The goals are
to pass with an A, turn in all assignments, and have my portfolio completed.

Instructions:
1) Re-read the paper (and teacher feedback).
2) Complete this reflection sheet.
3) Revise the paper accordingly and highlight any changes.
4) Submit the revision and this reflection sheet.

What was the purpose of this writing assignment?

The purpose of this assignment was to choose a theme and relate that to today’s society. It relates to the story
of Macbeth and the themes it represents. For example, these are the themes seen in the story; betrayal,
ambition, and fate. We as the students have to find relatable sources and add it to our essay which relates to
the prompt.

How did you perform in relation to the expectations of the writing rubric?
I did great on this essay I received a good score compared to my other essays. I had less spelling and
grammar errors which was not the issue in this case the issue was my quote in my third body paragraph.
Overall, my essay took a while to finish because I could not find sources in the internet I kept changing it till
I found a good idea for my essay. Since I chose betrayal it was hard, but in the end I succeeded with a good
written essay.

What aspect of this piece did you do well? (give example/quotes to support claims)
What I did well was finding my examples to my topic. I also explained my quote well then, my other essays
when I was summarizing it. For example, my good example “The president lies to the public about business
interests in Russia, lied to reporters about stolen Democratic emails and told Mr. Cohen to lie about hush
payments to cover up sexual misconduct” (Haberman). I’ve been improving on my skills by revising my
essay throughly for any mistakes and correcting it.

Why have you/haven’t you chosen to revise this writing assignment?

I have not chosen torevise it completely I scammed through it before turning it in. After revising there was
not as many mistakes this time compared to my other essays. It is not that I did not want to revise it, it was
just I took so much time trying to find example that I wasted time and it was too late to revise.

What will you do better in your next writing assignment, and how will I do it?
Next writing assignment I will revise before turning it in. I will also try to ask questions of I do not
understand the prompt. I will spend more time on my assignments to finish it then being distracted by
something that is not important.

To what degree of success did you achieve your previously stated goal(s)?
Honestly, I did achieve my goal which is getting the grade I wanted and less mistakes. I achieved a part of my
goal which makes me proud. This shows me I can do better in my next essay. I will choose better options for
myself to succeed.
