HOW TO PRINT AT OUR HIGHSCHOOL

 In our Art Classroom we have a MakerBot Replicator Mini. Replicator Mini

only prints via Wi-Fi so, no SD card or USB removable disks are needed.
 The website to create our 3D print will be TinkerCad.com
 We will save our designs as (.makerbot) or STL (.stl)

1. Open Tinkercad.com

2. Create an account (profile>username>password)

3. Walk through tutorials prompted.

4. Create a new design

5. Start ‘tinkering’ using

6. Explore how to move and
size.

NAVIGATION

 Hold right click to move

around

 Scroll on mouse to zoom in

and out

 Shift and click edges to

adjust size

 Drag up or down on center

box to adjust thickness

 Drag cone up or down to

adjust height on plane.

7. Rename.

8. Make sure nothing is selected on your object in anticipation of export.

9. Export to ‘Download’ folder by selecting EXPORT button.

10. Select “Everything in design.” and ‘.STL’ file type. Object will be sent to
‘Downloads’ folder

11. Open MakerBot Print located on desktop by clicking icon.

12. Create ‘New Project’ by selecting Project Panel folder.

13. Select ‘+Add Models’ button.

14. Select ‘.stl’ file from the Downloads folder and click Open.

15. Scale item. Make sure you select ‘Uniform Scaling’ so that object isn’t
skewed.
16. Generate Supports and Raft

17. Adjust print settings in Extruder Slot 1 to PLA .

18. Make sure your design is flat on the build plate.

19. Select PRINT button at bottom right of screen -or- Select File>Print from
‘.makerbot’.

20. Select Replicator Mini printer.

21. Select PRINT again.

22. You can view print job progress on screen. Or view in real time/ in
person.
 Do not touch build plate or print.
 Plate and object will be HOT.
