Assignment Title: Q3 Mid-Unit: Macbeth’s Downfall

Student Writing Goal: My writing goal is to score a perfect score in my next essay. I also hope to improve my thesis
and claims.

1) Re-read the paper (and teacher feedback).
2) Complete this reflection sheet.
3) Revise the paper accordingly and highlight any changes.
4) Submit the revision and this reflection sheet.

What was the purpose of this writing assignment?

The purpose of this writing assignment was to discuss the things that triggered Macbeth’s Downfall after
reading the play of “Macbeth”, written by famous poet, William Shakespeare. The main theme revolves
around Macbeth and how his story negatively progresses. It was our job to depict what and who caused his
downfall and provide our audience with textual evidence to convince them that our claims are correct and and
credible.

How did you perform in relation to the expectations of the writing rubric?
I believe that I did a decent job at writing this assignment, although it was not one of my best pieces. Like
always, I waited until last minute to write it, and I slacked on my rough draft which made things even more
difficult for me in the end. I also didn’t do my best job at choosing the quotes to back up my claims.

What aspect of this piece did you do well? (give example/quotes to support claims)
I believe that I did well with my use of vocabulary. All of my sentences made sense and they had a good flow
to it. My reader/audience can easily tell what my point that I was trying to get across. Overall, I think that I
did a pretty decent job on my paper, even though I am aware that it could’ve been a lot better than the final
result.

Why have you/haven’t you chosen to revise this writing assignment?

I chose to revise this assessment because I don’t think that it was one of my best works. I had some errors in
my sentences. I also used contractions without even realizing that I did by mistake. I changed the placement
of some of my words, to make the sentences sound better. I also made sure to check that I revised more than
the mistakes that my teacher marked for me to edit. I also score a 90% on the assignment, when I honestly
could’ve done better.

What will you do better in your next writing assignment, and how will I do it?
To what degree of success did you achieve your previously stated goal(s)?
Sadly, I do not think that I have made much progress since stating my recent goal for the quarter. If anything,
I think that I have gotten worse at keeping up with my work. I do not feel happy with the way that I have
been handling my work, and I am disappointed in myself because I know that I can do better than what I am
doing now. I think the excitement of graduating and only having a couple of weeks left of school is keeping
my headspace away from the goals that I have initially made at the beginning of the quarter. I am aware that I
need to get back on my feet and catch up on my class and home work.
