SUMMARY
I have worked in education for 17 years. During my career in education I have worked in
numerous capacities. I began my career working as a paraprofessional in a behavior
unit. During this two-year assignment, I realized that my calling in life was to be a teacher. I
decided to return to school and earn a bachelor’s degree in kinesiology/special education. I
returned to the education field and began to work as a paraprofessional in a special education
life skills unit. Four years later I took on my first teacher assignment as a first-grade teacher. The
following year I took on the challenge of being the lead teacher in a behavior unit and
coaching football and basketball. Currently, I am still working in a behavior unit, coaching
middle school football and girls' head basketball coach at the high school level.
