ORDER:
Section 22 of the Building & Other Construction Workers (RE&CS) Act,
1996 empowers the The Andhra Pradesh Building & Other Construction
Workers Welfare Board constituted under the Act to provide welfare
measures and facilities to Construction Workers registered as beneficiaries
with the Board.

2. The Andhra Pradesh Building & Other Construction Workers Welfare

Board in its 20th Board Meeting held on 12-06-2018 has resolved to provide
scholarships to the children (not exceeding two) of the registered Building &
Other Construction Workers who are not beneficiaries under Chandranna
Bima Scheme. Children of such workers studying in 9th, 10th, Intermediate or
ITI are eligible for scholarship @ Rs.1200/- per annum. Children of
registered Building & Other Construction Workers who are studying
professional courses at Graduation level will also be entitled to a scholarship
of Rs.5000/- per annum. This will be in addition to the scholarships if any,
provided by the Government.
3. In the letter 2nd read above, the Secretary & CEO of the Board has
sent proposals for providing scholarships as resolved by the A.P.B&OCWW
Board in their 20th Board Meeting.
4. After careful examination, the Government hereby accord approval to
the Scheme. The following guidelines are issued in this regard:
i) The registered Building & Other Construction Worker who are not
covered under Chandranna Bima are eligible under this scheme,

ii) An amount of Rs.1,200/- (Rupees One Thousand and Two Hundred

only) per annum shall be sanctioned as scholarship to the children
of Building & Other Construction workers studying 9th, 10th,
Intermediate or ITI.

iii) An amount of Rs.5,000/- (Rupees Five Thousand only) per annum

shall be provide as incentive scholarship to the children of
registered Building & Other Construction worker studying in higher
professional courses at graduation level. This is in addition to any
scholarship provided by the Government.

iv) In all scholarship of any kind can be provided to a maximum of two

children per BOC worker family.

v) The application for the scholarship shall submit within 3 months

after beginning of academic year.
vi) The claimant shall submit the application online in the official web
portal of A.P.B&OCWW Board along with scanned copies of the
following documents. The application in the format specified by the
APBOCWW Board may also be submitted manually along with the
following documents:

1. Copies of Aadhaar Card of BOC Worker and his / her Child.

2. Copy of ID Card under BOCW Act.
3. Age proof certificate, Study Certificate, Memorandum of
marks, (2) Photos of the student and Copy of the front page
of the Bank Account Pass Book.
4. In case of Professional Course the applicant furnish the ID
Card issued by the college,
vii) The application along with all required documents specified at point
No.vi may be submitted to the concerned ALO/ACL(SSS) for
verification.

viii) After verification, the Deputy Commissioner of Labour concerned

shall be transfer the scholarship amount online, to the bank account
of the student.
ix) The Andhra Pradesh Building and Other Construction Workers
Welfare Board may specify any further norms as may be required
for implementation of the Scheme.
x) As most of the BOC Workers are covered under Chandranna Bima
Scheme, the CEO has to exercise with great care and ensure that
only genuine BOC workers who stand excluded from Chandranna
Bima are covered under this Scheme.

The Secretary & Chief Executive Officer, A.P. Building & Other
Construction Workers Welfare Board, Hyderabad shall take necessary action.
