1. Write a program to find the class of IP address entered by user in dotted decimal notation.
User must also get a notification in case of wrong IP address is entered by the user.

2. Illustrate the various Networking Commands with options available.

a) ipconfig

b) netstat

c) tracert

d) ping

e) ftp

f) route

g) nslookup

3. Illustrate the functioning of Straight Through, Crossover and Rollover wired cables,
commonly used in LAN communication.

4. Study the Cisco Packet Tracer- a network simulation program, its key feature and the
protocols it supports.

5. Create a client and server network and show the steps to send a simple ICMP PDU in
simulation mode.

6. Configure a server as a DHCP Server and auto configure 10 such clients through this
server.

7. Configure a server as a HTTP Server and demonstrate its functionality. Test connections
and send packets across network in simulation mode.

8. Configure a server as a DNS Server to provide DNS to a website namely, www.help.com.


Test connections and show all steps.
9. Configure an EMAIL Server. Test connections and send an email from a client to another.
Show the steps in Cisco Packet Tracer networking simulation environment.

10. Configure a server as a FTP Server and run various FTP commands. Show the steps in
simulation mode.

11. Configure a router to connect two different networks in simulation environment. Test
connections and send packets across these networks.
