Aim/Goal of the Lesson/Unit:


 The aim/goal of the lesson/unit is to introduce plaster as a sculpting medium and to encourage students
to use their critical thinking skills to create illusions with the form and design of their plaster hands.

Vocabulary/language:
 Plaster: A soft mixture of lime with sand or cement and water that form a smooth hard surface when
dried
 Illusion: A deceptive appearance or impression that distorts the senses
 Acrylic Paint: A fast-drying paint made of pigment suspended in acrylic polymer emulsion
 Thumbnail Sketch: A small drawing on paper used to explore multiple ideas quickly
 Color Theory: The collection of rules and guidelines regarding the use of color in art and design

o Students should have a closer sense of what they want to do for their project
