Sydney participated and contributed in a regular way to the online seminars. The seminars consisted of different topics that
were relevant to the interns, and they were required to present and respond to the presentations of others. She provided
insights and added to the ongoing discussion on these topics. Her contributions included a useful presentation to the group
on issues with long range planning. This presentation was prepared and professionally done.
Sydney’s assignments were submitted on time and written in thoughtful ways. In the written work there seemed to be an
understanding and insight into teaching and learning as well as the demands of the profession. Her Professional Goals and
Growth Plan outlined specific areas of concern including classroom management, increasing literacy and assessment.
These were specific pragmatic activities that she made herself accountable for and reported on her success. Her
Professional Inquiry project involved developing resources to integrate FNMI content into lessons through play. This project
culminated in a final resource that was shared on a web site where the report and lessons can be downloaded.
From my in-class observations, she designed effective transitions, ensured attention while giving instructions, provided
strong directions, maintained expectations, encouraged all students to participate, showed good patience with classroom
management, modelled processes for the learner, used effective informal assessment, anticipated potential issues that might
distract students, had a logical sequence to her lessons, provided a variety of acuities to maintain interest, and circulated
well with the purpose of engaging students.
In communication with the administrators and mentor teacher, she received a positive report and was progressing in the
teaching profession.
I have read the complete Final Report and certify that the assigned grade is:
