The Department of Yoga, Central University of Rajasthan was established in
2017. Yoga is a combina on of physical, mental, and spiritual prac ces or disciplines which originated in
ancient India. Nowadays Yoga has gained worldwide popularity because of its u lity. It is prac ced for
promo on of health, preven on of diseases and also used as therapy for Non-Communicable Diseases
(NCD). Yoga therapy is a growing field and scien fic evidence has begun to emphasize its efficacy. Hence
Yoga Therapy needs to be studied in order to implement the yoga as therapy and for further explora on.
Presently The Department of Yoga, Central University of Rajasthan has started with a 2 year M.Sc. Yoga
Therapy program. The purpose of this post-graduate educa on is to create highly skilled manpower in Yoga
therapy.
OBJECTIVES:
• To provide an exposure to various fundamentals, types and aspects of Yoga prac ces along with Indian
philosophy.
• The goal of teaching Yoga Therapy to students is aimed at giving the student comprehensive medical
knowledge of the disease and its Yogic Management.
• Students should be able to independently handle a pa ent and administer yoga therapy;
• Effec vely treat the pa ents having various psychosoma c ailments.
• Provide them with comprehensive knowledge of Yogic therapeu c techniques applicable for various
ailments.
DURATION OF THE PROGRAMME:
Four semesters of two years.
ADMISSION PROCEDURE:
The admission to the course shall be through Central Universi es common entrance test to be conducted on
all-India basis.
ELIGIBILITY OF THE CANDIDATES:
Bachelor’s degree from a recognized University in any discipline with minimum 45% of Marks or equivalent grade
in grade in aggregate for general category and 40% or equivalent grade for SC/ST/OBC/PWD candidates and
having 12th standard in Science discipline.
OR
B. Sc. Degree in Yoga Therapy from any recognized University with 50% or equivalent grade in aggregate for
general category and 45% or equivalent grade for SC/ST/OBC/PWD candidates.
