This I believe…

1. When it comes to student learning styles, I believe that every student learns differently,
and as a teacher, I should adjust my teaching styles to meet the needs of these students.
2. When it comes to discipline, I believe that students need structure, and discipline when
they are not following rules, to show them right from wrong, and make a better learning
environment for all students.
3. When it comes to classroom rules, I believe they should be simple, and few, but enforced
heavily to ensure a safe, and orderly classroom.
4. When it comes to procedures, I believe that they are key in a classroom, and to ensure a
fun, safe, and easy to learn environment.
5. When it comes to home-school connection, I believe that it is the most important part in a
classroom to ensure that they know what is happening, how their child is doing, and how
they can help their child.
6. When it comes to the issue of discrimination in my classroom, I believe that it should not
be tolerated. We will embrace our differences, rather than discriminate.
7. When it comes to professionalism, I believe that when you act professionally, you will be
treated professionally. It is a key quality to have in your life.
8. When it comes to students with special needs, I believe that they should be treated as, and
respected as equals, and that I should adjust my teaching to meet their individual needs.
9. When it comes to bulletin boards, I believe that they should be colorful, and used as a
resource for students, and to encourage and help them.
10. When it comes to preparing lesson plans, I believe that they should be prepared a week,
or more ahead of time, and should be creative, filling up the time we have to do each
activity.
11. When it comes to my relationship with other school staff, I believe that we should all get
along, and help each other when needed.
12. When it comes to assessment of student learning, I believe that we should use
assessments on the main points and topics, to show student growth, and understanding.
13. When it comes to the way I set up my classroom, I believe that it should be a
comfortable, but yet colorful and cheery learning environment for all students, and meet
the needs, and conveniences of each child.
14. When it comes to student records-keeping, I believe that records should be kept to insure
that students are getting the attention they need, and that they are improving on their
weaknesses, as well as keeping up their strengths.
15. When it comes to my relationship with students, I believe that I should be comforting,
and understanding, helping students through problems, and teaching them life skills, and
skills they need to reach their full potential.
