Lesson Plan in Math 5

Finding the Circumference of a Given Circle.

The teacher started the lesson with reviewing the preliminaries needed to understand the lesson such
as multiplication, and parts of the circle. Reviewing the basics made sure that the students were
equipped with the proper tools needed to understand the lesson. Additionally, using real world
examples, the teacher had a discussion on the difference of the circle with other shapes. After the
introduction was done, a word problem was asked by the teacher and let the students to answer
questions to solve the problem step by step. In here, the concept of the circumference of a circle was
introduced. Formulas were given on how to solve the circumference. Students were made to think
critically and participate in solving the word problem.

Activities were given to the students where they had to form themselves into groups of 5. They were
given cut outs of circles with different measurements and asked to solve for the area of the circle. This
was followed by the teacher asking how they find the activity, if they were successful in doing the
activity and what values they learned.

DDL in Grade 2 Mathematics

The teacher started introducing the lesson in measuring capacity by showing different real-life objects
like pitchers and mugs. This was followed by asking questions like how these objects are used which
then transitioned into establishing the purpose of the lesson. In this manner, interaction between the
students and the teacher was established in order for them to be more interested. Afterwards, the
lesson was formally introduced by giving examples of objects like a water drum, packet of vinegar, and
more and the students were asked to think of what the appropriate unit of measurements for these
objects are.

A guided group activity was done in which the students were split into groups of four. Different activities
were given for each group in which they were asked to identify what proper units of measurements are
to be used for different materials. This way, the students were able to think critically with the teacher
guiding them into the correct way. Finally, the teacher presented how the lesson of measuring capacity
has its practical use in the real world. The teacher ended the lesson by summarizing the lesson for the
day and giving homework.

DLL in Grade 4 Mathematics

Starting with a drill on counting by 2s, 5s, and, 10s seems to be not strongly related to the topic of
interpreting data presented in single vertical bar graphs although they are used in labeling the said bar
graphs. The teacher gives many different graphs with different data set which is good since it shows the
versatility of using vertical bar graphs. Additionally, although it might seem repetitive in asking what the
graph is about or what are the parts of the graph, it is important since it gives them more practice and
makes it clearer on how to interpret these bar graphs.
