Supply chain of Levis

1. The main procurement of denim and cotton fabrics is done from their partner
"The Pratap Group". They have plant in Ambala (Haryana). The raw material
from that plant is transferred to SSJC’s storage house at peera garhi(paschim
vihar- New Delhi) and IMT manesar (Haryana).

2. The basic mode of shipping the material is by road transport.

3. This is done by SSJS logistics pvt ltd.

4. The shipment is tracked via online software and every truck is GPS enabled to
provide real time locations.

5. All the stock is accumulated first to peera garhi and manesar warehouse.

6. Manesar warehouse receives only that much raw material which will be
consumed at factory in IMT Bawal (Haryana).

7. From peera garhi the raw material is then dispatched to Bangalore plant.

8. This is also done through SSJS logistics.

9. The final product in the form of jeans of Levi's and is then delivered to
warehouses of retail outlets via road transport.

10. All the stuff is insured.

11. The accessories used such as zips ,buttons etc. is procured from local quality
vendors.

12. All the raw materials is quality ensured by companies quality engineers. Safety
stock is maintained at both the plants of IMT Bawal and Bangalore.

13. The safety stock ensures the manufacturing of 5000 pieces.

14. The payment is received after average of 10 days via online banking.

The empty trucks returning from Bangalore are used by Vitthal transport (Bangalore ) to deliver
its raw materials from Bangalore to Haryana.
Suppliers criteria selection
In general all the suppliers are chosen by Levi’s on the basis of their quality levels but also by
considering the observance of workers’ rights and human conditions.

4. Lead time requirements
Moreover Levi’s prefers to maintain long last relationships with its suppliers. Nevertheless
suppliers have a lower bargaining power than Levi’s.

Distribution channels:
The main distribution channels are:
1. Flag stores ( they sell only the Levi’s brand)
2. Franchised stores ( shops that sell many brands on the basis of a contract which give
them this right)
3. Internet ( the online shop, which represents only the 10% of sales)
All these channels allow to Levi’s to obtain the largest distribution cover and so be present
everywhere.

Mode of Sourcing:

sustainability and eco-friendly goods.

3. Fibre-more than 95% of all levi’s ® products are made with cotton grown in the U.S.,
China, India, Pakistan, turkey or one of the many other countries where cotton is farmed.

4. Fabric-once the cotton leaves the fields, it is spun and made into fabric by mills around
the world.

5. Levis generally do not purchase fabric directly from the mills, but takes important steps
toward partnering with them in their drive toward sustainability.

Levis Store in Patna

The exclusive Levis Store is located in Fraser road, Patna. The merchandise comes from the
Alpine Apparels Pvt Ltd – Bangalore. Stocks are checked within 15 days of arrival. New stocks
arrive every fortnight.
Stocks are planned six months earlier as they follow two seasons Summer Spring
and Autumn Winter.

This is the collection from the Summer Spring season, as we arrive their in summer spring
season.

There are about 4000 diffferent collections for their summer spring season. There are shirts, t-
shirts, denims and other accessories i.e belts, wallets, caps etc.

The price range is from 2499 to 6000 ruppees. The most selling merchandise is denim in this
store.

They have their warehouse in walking distance of 100 metres. The warehouse is Marda
Collections Pvt. Ltd. Fraser road patna. In case of out of stock within mid timing of sales, they
can easily get their stocks from the warehous in no time.

There is a change in Visual merchandise in each month, so that that the VM can trigger the
sales switch in the mind of the consumers as each and every month is different.
