HIS/2018/1051 HISTORY HONS.

BY-PRANAY MALHOTRA

A Very propitious morning to all you, I am truly humbled by your presence and what ignites more
energy and spirit in the environment is the indispensable topic I am going to brief you upon
being’politics in the contemporary India

While talking of the contemporary era politics it is very important to stick upon two basic essential
elements, first being that the world is erratic and at the same time mutable, second being that the
present day phase of politics which we are cognisant of is not a newborn process, throughout
history it has prevailed and remodelled to new environments. Some sort of political organisations
have been present since beginning of the new world orders.many basic and complex political
models have evolved and has been tested in various parts of the world.Together , all international
actors and their interactions with one another form an international system.there is no single
global system that dominates the history of mankind,Ironically, international system itself is also a
very important body that greatly influences the behaviors and interactions of its creators,
especially the states. There is no single global system that dominates the history of mankind. This
system always evolves as the realm of power shifts together with the changing in the way that
power is demonstrated. Remarkably, the 20th and the early 21st centuries have been a very
dynamic period when there were frequent fundamental changes in world politics and international
systemThe beginning of the 20th century, when states were still the solely crucial players, global
affairs were under the Balance of Power System. This system came to an end together with the
breakout of the World War I when the perception of balance of power was absent in the mind of
state actors. There has been numerous political models which have their own supremacy and
downfalls.FRANKLIN D. ROOSEVELT The Former President of THE UNITED STATES OF
AMERICA quotes’’IN POLITICS NOTHING HAPPENS BY ACCIDENT.IF IT HAPPENS,YOU CAN
BET IT WAS PLANNED THAT WAY.India as the world’s largest democracy is also influnced
by’New international actors such as Intergovernmental Organizations like the UN and NATO,
regional grouping, the EU and ASEAN, and other International Nongovernmental Organizations
like the ILO are also increasing their role in changing the world stage. States cooperate through
those INGOs. For instance, through ASEAN, the countries in Southeast Asia are trying to limit the
influences of great powers in their region. Even though it has not become powerful enough to
achieve all it goal and objective, it surely has change the way in which international relations
operate especially for the U.S. when it deals with the countries in Southeast Asia. More
importantly, the increasing power of Multinational Corporations and private power capital make
the international affairs even more complex because those actors even have great influence in
many domestic political affairs of many countries especially the developing countries, but their
intention and goal are sole profit, which are so different from the state actor. Advancement of
technology, communication, and transportation has helped the transnational social movement
possible. From the woman rights groups to environmental advocators, they actively involve in
world politics India is a federal parliamentary democratic republic. It is known to be world’s largest
democracy. This Indian political system came into being in August 1947 as the country got
freedom from the British rule. The constitution of India was written soon after and came into force
on 26th January 1950. The people of India need to wake up and realize that the political system
will continue to stay as corrupt as it is till the time they allow it to be. They must realize that they
are being befooled by the corrupt ministers time and again. The corrupt practices of the ministers
are having negative repercussions on the entire society. The rise in the prices of petrol, diesel,
food items and other commodities is all a result of the corruption in the system. Unequal wealth
distribution and slow economic growth of the country is also because of the corrupt practices of
our leaders.

In stark contrast with the current constitution of Japan which has remained unchanged [click
here], the constitution of India has been one of the most amended national documents in the
world with 98 changes in just over 70 years. Many of these amendments have resulted from a
long-running dispute involving the Parliament and the Supreme Court over the rights of
parliamentary sovereignty as they clash with those of judicial review of laws and constitutional
amendments.

India's lower house, the Lok Sabha, is modelled on the British House of Commons, but its federal
system of government borrows from the experience of the United States, Canada and Australia.
While the framers of the Indian constitution certainly had in mind this Anglo-Saxon idea of
federalism, historically the central government has dominated over the regional states. The
Constitution actually refers to India as a "Union of states" and perhaps a better term - which is
also used in the mainstream media - is quasi-federal system.

It is unfortunate that willingly or unwillingly, the general public is becoming a party to the corrupt
practices. One of the clear examples of this is bribery. While we allege the ministers and
government officials of bribery we forget that we also promote the same by giving bribery at
various places just to get our work done quickly and smoothly.

It is time for us to stand united to drive corruption out of our country. The only way to bring about
a positive change in the political system is to raise voice unanimously. We need to realize that our
strength lies in our unity and we must use it to improve the system.

has seen several amendments since then. These changes have been brought about for the good
of the society after a lot of consideration. single approach however succeeds in taking into
consideration all factors and outcomes in world politics and each of them has distinct benefits as
well as certain limitations. The realist point of view, for example, considers the nation-state as the
basic unit of analysis and explains its decisions within an anarchical world systemWhat is the
nature of power in contemporary world politics? Who or what counts as ‘powerful’ in global
affairs? Is the United States the sole superpower in the international system? If so, what are the
sources of its power: its military might, economic prowess, or cultural allure? If not, what other
actors can be considered powerful? Or has globalization changed the nature of power
fundamentally, weakening traditional actors in world politics (e.g. nation-states and international
organizations) and strengthening non-traditional ones (e.g. social movements, diasporas, terrorist
networks)?

While concluding it is of utmost importance to acknowledge the fact that indian politics is
constantly changing and capricious in nature.i would like to thank you all for lending your years as
a ratiocinative and active audience

THANSK!
