Function, section, symbol

Valve model 3DR is a pilot operated 3-way pressure reducing valve with Control spool (2) moves closed. The required reduced pressure is achieved
pressure limitation in the secondary circuit. It is used to reduce pressure when a balance between the pressure in port A and the value set at
in a hydraulic system. compression spring (11) is reached.
The pressure reducing valve consists of main valve (1) with control spool If pressure in port A continues to rise at the actuator through external
(2) and pilot control valve (3) with adjustment element (10). forces, control spool (2) moves further against compression spring (9).
At rest the valve is open. Flow is unrestricted from port P to port A. The Port A is connected to port T via control lands (8) at control spool (2).
pressure in port A is permitted via the bore (4) to the spool area opposite Fluid passes to tank to ensure that pressure does not rise any further.
to compression spring (9). Pressure is applied via orifice (6) to the spring Pilot oil return from spring chamber (12) is always external via control
loaded side of the control spool (2) and via channel (5) to ball (7) in pilot line (13) to port Y. This must always remain at zero pressure to tank.
control valve (3). Pressure gauge connection (14) makes it possible to monitor the reduced
Dependent on the setting of compression spring (11), pressure builds up pressure in port A.
in front of ball (7) and in channel (5) which holds control spool (2) in an
open position. Flow continues from port P via control spool (2) into port
A, until pressure in port A exceeds the value set at compression spring
(11) and lifts ball (7).
