9 (a) Diagram 9.1, Diagram 9.2 and Diagram 9.3 shows identical wooden blocks floats at
different depth in three types of liquid of different densities.

i) What is meant by density?

12 Sonar equipment on a ship produces an ultrasonic sound. A fishing boat uses the sound
echo to determine the depth of seabed. You are assigned to investigate the suitable
characteristics of the waves that could be used to determine the depth of the seabed.
