 INTRODUCTION

In our daily lives we see a lot of problems that are related to the supply of water at various
places including localities, farm fields, industries etc. In our country there are a large
number farm fields of large areas. Various crops are grown that have different water level
requirement. It is impossible for a person to every time go and walk through those fields
and irrigate each crop in excessive heat conditions and also in adverse weather conditions
like rain, storm etc. Also, in urban areas there are residential areas as well as industrial
areas that require water from time to time at fixed regular intervals. Manually, closing and
opening the valve for the above, it was very cumbersome. To reduce human labor and
ensure regular and efficient supply of water, this automation system was thought of that
would solve the purpose and ensure a continuous water supply as and when required by
just sending a text message containing the information of opening and closing of valves.

 DESIGN FOR TESTABILITY

For testing the system user must follow these instructions

 Firstly most important thing to check before turn on the power supply that
connections for vcc and ground are correct. To check the port for vcc and ground
turn over the check which input port has square shape, after identify connect
ground to that square shape port and vcc to another.

 After connecting the input connections form 12V battery or by sing SMPS turn on
the power supply and power LED must on in the PCB, if not check the connections.

 After that complete the connections according to the circuit diagram.

 Then connect the motor to the given output port, and check the circuit after burning
the code in the microcontroller.

 Now with the given buttons set the alarm time and check the circuit is working or
not, if not then check the connections again.
 DIAGNOSIS

Repairing

If system isn’t working then user must follows these instructions.

Electronics section

 Check the power supply.


 Check all connections according to the circuit diagram.

 Check at the output for the 12V form the multi meter.

 Check for gsm connectivity

Hardware section

If gears are stuck then provide the proper lubrication in gears.

Check the proper alignment of the shafts.

All gears must have right angle b/w gears and shafts.

Bearings must be free to move.

 Expansion

 Battery can be replace by the solar panel so that system can be used at remote
location.

 A current sensor can be used with battery and a gsm module so battery status and
system status can be send to the user.

 Gear box can be replaced be metal to make it more reliable.
