Discussion of findings

The results presented above are by no means capable of covering all the
perspectives of students “Self-studying”, due to the mere fact that they
came from only one university and in quite a limited scope. However, as
the specimen of our research – Hanoi University – is currently hosting a
fairly wide range of students with quite a diversity of social
backgrounds, we strongly assert that a certain level of generalization can
be inferred from the obtained data.
4.1. Student’s frequency of doing self -study.
From the results as shown in Figure 1 and Figure 2, page 3, it is natural
to conclude that average students do not do self- study regularly. This
result is not beyond expectation, self-studying is a
major responsibility of students. Many students have obstacles in
studying. There are various exclusive reasons that could play
the essential position in making college students lazy and inactive as a
long way as the students concerned, however few of the motives which
are taken into consideration to be great and the maximum vital one. The
first purpose of being lazy is sleeplessness if the students are not having
the proper sleep throughout the night time they may usually feel lazy
and dizzy at the same time as their studies.
Many students are caught in or addicted to the Internet. They are wide
awake all night to online, chat, surf Facebook or do something else
concerning the Internet. Self-studying is a mental activity so it requires
the freshness of the mind that is particularly executed through proper
sleep and once the sleep is not being taken properly, the laziness will
prevail in the self-studying. The second one reason is
many students never concentrate on future, plus they are involved in too
many activities and having too much fun.
Seventy percent of general colleges students don't realize what they may
be analyzed for, fifty percent of college students do not understand what
they will do in the future, and most students have not any purpose for
their life. The ones are the reason why they do not attempt to study hard.
They are lazy and depend on their dad and mom. Finally, one is
the strong point which they may be pursuing is not always in step
with their interests and dream. Consequently, they sense dull and
uncomfortable on analyzing it. Many college students go to the
college because of their parent’s requirement, do not because they
like it. Most people do not need to be obliged; they need to do what they
prefer. Thus, some college students are lazy in studying subjects that
