How to use Enhanced Milieu Teaching

 Classroom with teachers

 Home with parents during bath time, meal time, bed time and more.

EMT strategies are used best when an individual shows an interest in activities and materials.

EMT Strategies

 Modeling – Demonstrating a targeted behavior in order for an individual to imitate

it
 Mand modeling – Providing verbal instructions or asking questions in order to
encourage a desired response from an individual.
 Time delay- Waiting for a short period of time in order to prompt a desired response
