Holiday Homework
A country with a glorious historical PAST
Its rich culture is deep rooted and vast
The PRESENT of the country is shining bright
Various missions accomplished and a few within sight
The FUTURE of which shows potential great
My India is the super power which none can equate.
Dear Parent

It's that time of the year when children get an opportunity to do some research work and
unleash their creativity…the summer vacation. The summer vacation is the best time to
connect with your child, fire their imagination and foster an outlook that helps them to
explore, discover and rediscover concepts. The theme for this year's holiday homework, as
the above poem suggests, is ‘India: Past, Present and Future’.
This homework theme is an endeavour to provide children a peek into the India that was, to
appreciate and value the India that is and to visualize and dream about the India that will be.

The activities have been designed with an inter-disciplinary approach and are based on
the common topic.

 We hope the homework and activities will be well managed and presented in your
ward’s own handwriting. This project will be assessed and 5 marks will be allocated
in the Formative Assessment II for each subject.

 The holiday homework will be assessed on the following parameters:

content, originality, creativity, presentation (layout and neatness)

 All the students of present Classes III & IV will have to do the entire assigned holiday
homework (all the subjects). However, the Scholar Badge holders of class IV of the
session 2014-15 (present class V) have a choice of either attempting the entire
holiday homework (all the subjects) OR attempting an extra question in Formative
Assessment II of all the respective subjects.

 The last day for submitting the project is Thursday, 9th July 2015.

 Please find attached the guidelines and instructions for the students .

I wish you and your family a relaxing summer break!

Best wishes

Aditi Misra
