Textbook: Drill Discussion

Schedule: 9:00am (M-T-W) 9:00am (Th-F) alternating every week

His English skills in vocabulary are good, and improving. He speaks in clear
sentences but sometimes with few grammar lapses. He sometimes makes mistakes by
adding be verbs like is/was to verbs, like "He was died" instead of "He died". has
quite a strong vocabulary and his answers to questions are usually accurate. He is
a great reader and I encourage him to stretch himself by reading more complex books
at home when he has the time. He is able to recognize and read the vocabulary words
we have previously learned in class. He uses new words he has learned in class
frequently. He is able to follow the flow of natural conversation and understand
dialogues but sometimes have difficulties understanding long explanations. He can
usually self-correct mistakes on his grammar. He seems to be enjoying the topics in
our new book, Drill Discussion. It has a lot of useful expressions he could use in
daily conversations. Charlie has shown himself to be a quick learner, so I expect
to continue to see improvement in his English studies.

Name: Johnson
Textbook: Smart Phonics 2
Schedule: 7:00pm (M-T-W-Th-F)

He is a beginner. He has only attended five classes so far. Right now, he has to
work on his reading, spelling and pronunciation first. After a few weeks or months,
he'll be ready to learn usage of correct grammar. He is conversational skill is
still below average. He needs to have more confidence for him to be able to improve
his communication skills. He still needs help from translation tools from the
internet to understand simple English sentences. He listens attentively and
sometimes understands what I'm explaining to the class. Johnson has exhibited a
basic understanding of the Smart Phonics 1 material we have been studying.

enthusiasm in learning. It's always nice to see him determined to do well in his

learned many new words through the class readings and our lessons. I always try to
encourage him to practice his speaking in class, so he can continue to improve his

sentences. He is good in correcting himself whenever he realizes his mistakes. If
he practices his reading more, he will read even more confidently. Dong Oh
participates well in our activities and seems to enjoy learning English. He listens

Name: Kevin
Textbook: Business English 1
Schedule: 8:00pm (W-F)

I am currently teaching Business English to Kevin. The book is a bit complex for
his level but he is trying his best to understand words that he encounters in every
class. He always try to look for definitions of words on the internet. With the
help of translation tools, he's able to completely understand the topics in our
book. He can easily understand simple explanations. His vocabulary is also good. I
am sometimes surprised that he knows the meaning of some words that are not
commonly used. I like his answers to situational questions but he sometimes need to
add more ideas or opinions to it. I think Kevin is on the right track to achieving
great English skills if he keeps his mind on concentrating and learning more.

Name: Heung
Textbook: Business English 1
Schedule: 8:00pm (T-Th)

Just like his brother, Kevin, Heung is also studying Business English. He is able
to comprehend different situations and some scenarios that are included in our
topics. I like how he responds to my questions when I ask him about his company. He
always tries to share his experiences at work and how it is related to what we are
studying. He knows the importance of learning the "Do's and Don'ts" in business. He
only needs to work on expounding his answers so it will be more accurate and easy
to undestand. I am always impressed with Heung's reading ability, especially his
tone and inflection. Heung's comprehension of the lesson material is wonderful.
Heung has demonstrated that he is a fast learner, so I expect to continue to see
improvement in his English studies.

Name: Adam
Textbook: Basic Grammar In Use
Schedule: 8:30pm (T-W-Th)

Adam is an intelligent, cooperative student who tries hard in class and quickly
learns new vocabulary. He is able to clearly distinguish sounds in words when
speaking. He is able to listen and understand with ease. Adam's comprehension of
the lesson material is excellent. Adam quickly learns everything that is presented
to him. He is very curious and interested in his lessons. Adam needs to participate
more in conversation and discussion. He needs to have more confidence in making
sentences. He should try to make his answers longer and in complete sentences. One
thing I like about him is he corrects himself whenever he realizes some lapses in
his grammar. He has almost no problems reading at an appropriate pace and flow for
this level. He has continued to improve his reading abilities through his diligent
efforts. He listens attentively and always understands our topics. Adam has made a
big improvement since last year, especially with grammar. I even thought he wasn't
ready for our new book yet, but he surprised me. Adam has shown a comprehensive
grasp of the Basic Grammar In Use book we have been studying. I hope he continues
to do well in class.

------------------------------
Name: Chang Woo
Textbook: Speak Your Mind 2

I can see that Chang Woo has many strengths as a student. He is confident about his
answers, he loves sharing his ideas and opinions. He has learned many new words
through the class readings and our lessons. He has a good vocabulary and his
answers to questions in class demonstrate a solid understanding of the lesson
material. I even learn new vocabulary words from him. He is never shy to express
what's on his mind. Chang Woo always tells if he agrees or disagrees with the
opinions or ideas on the book we are studying. He is always ready to accept
corrections. His confidence in his English-speaking skills is steadily improving as
he practices it and uses it every day. I am quite happy with the effort he puts
into reading the readings in class. I am excited about Chang Woo's potential and I
can't wait to see how he will grow in the future.

Name: Cindy
Textbook: Let's Begin
Schedule: 9:30pm (M-T-W-Th-F)

Cindy is a happy and delightful child, and I am happy to teach her. Cindy continues
to show improvements in class. She never shows lack of interest when we are
studying. There are times, she would attend the class even while inside a car, in
their friend's or relative's house. Before, she needed guidance and some help from
her mother or sister. But now, she can study on her own with a little assistance
from her mother or sister only when there are complex topics or words. She needs
lots of repetition and practice in order to retain speaking vocabulary. Sometimes
she easily forgets the things that we learned that's why I always give her a short
review before our class begins. She listens attentively and usually understands
what I'm talking about. Her comprehension is getting better and she's becoming more
familiar with our lessons every day. I am happy that she's showing great progress.
Good job Cindy! Keep it up!

Name: Molly
Textbook: Let's Talk About It
Schedule: 10:30pm (M-W)

It's interesting to have Molly as a student. We have already finished a grammar

book, now we are doing a speaking class. There are exercises where in she will make
question and answers them as well. I like her accent very much. I always tell her
that her skill level is advanced for her age. She continues to learn new vocabulary
words. I am glad that she is able to use them in calss sometimes. She has learned
these new words through the class readings and our lessons. As long as she is not
shy to practice speaking English, her speaking skills will continue to improve. The
exercises we have in our class are a good challenge for her English skills. She
always tells me that she wants to major in English when she goes to the university.
It only shows how interested she is in English. I think Molly only needs to study a
little harder to achieve her full potential as an excellent student.
------------------------------

Name: Ryan
Textbook: Exploring English 3
Schedule: 10:30pm-11:30pm (T) 11:00pm (M-W-F)

Ryan has settled into the class well. He started as a beginner, but now I can say
he has moved to the next level. I am glad that Ryan seldom goes absent these past
few weeks. Unlike before, he seems to be more active in answering questions during
our class. He needs to be more confident in trying to construct his own sentences
and not to rely too much on the Korean-English translator. He has already learned
the basics of English. I would like Ryan to more quickly make 'be' and 'do'
questions in class. He continues to show some improvements in his ability in
reading. He just needs to be careful sometimes. He has the tendency to read quickly
that results to inaccuracy of his pronunciation. His understanding of the lesson
material is reasonably good. Ryan has exhibited a basic understanding of the
Exploring English 3 topics we have been studying. Ryan finds English challenging
but is making good progress.
