What is HireVue?
HireVue is an on-demand video interviewing tool used at the beginning of your application process. This
virtual interview is viewed by our hiring teams and gives them an additional assessment point before inviting
you to an in-person interview. Your interview should be completed as soon as possible.

Why does JPMorgan Chase use HireVue?

HireVue has the following benefits:
Consistency – you'll be asked the same or similar questions as everyone else
Personal – you'll have the ability to tell your own story
Mobility – you can take it using your phone or PC
Flexibility - there is no need to travel

Taking the Interview

What will I receive?
An invite to complete a digital interview will be sent to the email address you provided on your
application. The email will contain a link that takes you directly to your interview. You should
complete the interview as soon as possible.

What do I need to complete my video interview?

We recommend taking the interview in a distraction-free environment. You can use either your mobile
device or a desktop/laptop. If via mobile, you'll need to first download the HireVue app. If via desktop/
laptop, you'll need a camera, microphone, and internet. Additional details and instructions are in the invite.

What is the dress code for a video interview?

We recommend you wear exactly what you would for a traditional face-to-face interview.

What language should I use to answer the questions?

Please answer the questions in English, unless otherwise stated.

Will I have the chance to practice?

You'll have the chance to answer a practice question – you can take as many practice questions as you’d
like. We encourage this as you can check your lighting, camera and sound and get a better understanding
of how the process works.

What is the format of the interview?

After you're done practicing, you'll be asked between 3-5 competencey-based questions.

How many attempts do I get to answer the question?

You'll have just one attempt when answering the questions.

After you view the questions you'll have up to 30 seconds of prep time.

How long does the interview take?

The interview will take approximately 10 minutes and will depend on the number of questions
being asked. Depending on the question, you'll have between 90 seconds and 3 minutes to respond.
Don't rush your answer. And remember, you don't have to use all of the allotted time.

Can I pause the interview?

You will not be able to pause the interview when answering a question. However, you can pause in
between answering questions.

What if I lose the connection during the interview?

Don’t panic. Close your web browser, re-open it, go back to your interview invitation and start it again.

Are there any best practices for completing the interview?

1) Give yourself plenty of time and be mindful of your surroundings when taking the interview.
2) Take advantage of the unlimited practice time to become comfortable with the set-up - we will not see
your practice responses!
3) Finally, just be yourself and demonstrate why you'd be a great fit for us!

After the Interview

How will I know my interview has been received?
You'll receive a confirmation email from HireVue.

You’ll hear from us shortly after the interview on next steps - we have thousands of interviews to review so
