1. What is Down Syndrome ? Down syndrome is a genetic disorder caused by the presence

of all or part of a third copy of chromosome 21.

2. What is a developmental delay ?is when your child does not reach their developmental

milestones at the expected times.

3. How can you tell a child has down syndrome ? You can tell that your child has down

syndrome by looking at the physical features on their body. Can also get tested before

the mother give birth.

4. What is the William’s Syndrome ? This condition is characterized by mild to moderate

intellectual disability or learning problems, unique personality characteristics, distinctive

facial features, and heart and blood vessel (cardiovascular) problems.

5. What is Turner’s Syndrome ?is a chromosomal condition that alters development in

females. Women with this condition tend to be shorter than average and are usually

unable to conceive a child because of an absence of ovarian function.

6. What are the physical features for a child with the Williams Syndrome ? These features

include a small upturned nose, long philtrum (upper lip length), wide mouth, full lips,

small chin, and puffiness around the eyes.

7. What are the physical features for a child with the Turner Syndrome? such as webbed

neck, a broad chest, and widely spaced nipples are identified. Sometimes diagnosis is

made at birth because of heart problems, an unusually wide neck, or swelling of the

hands and feet.

8. What are the physical features for a child with Down Syndrome ? Small head, ears, and

mouth. Upward slanting eyes, often with a skin fold that comes out from the upper eyelid

and covers the inner corner of the eye. White spots on the colored part of the eye (called

Brushfield spots) Wide, short hands with short fingers.
