The slewing gears DWP-15 and DWP15-2 were designed for use on hydraulic attachments for hydraulic
excavators as well as for mobile and stationary handling machines.
The DWP-15 / 15-2 perform three functions for operating the attachment:
1. Continuous hydraulic rotary drive

2. Hydraulic rotating union
3. Axial as well as radial support of the attachment in rotary operation
The slewing gear is mounted as a complete unit, which allows the component to be quickly mounted and
dismounted. All three functional units work largely independently of each other. This makes it possible to replace
individual components easily and economically in the case of wear or damage, which can be done by personnel
with standard metalworker's knowledge. In addition, the structure of the DWP-15 protects the hydraulic system
of the carrier against oil contamination from possible bearing wear, unlike compact rotators.

Slewing function description

The rotary drive is realized with one or two rotary motors (1). This drive is supplied with hydraulic pressure via
the hydraulic connections (2) and generates a corresponding torque according to the gerotor principle. This
torque is transferred via a flanged pinion (3) to the sprocket (4), which is bolted tightly with the attachment, with
a corresponding transmission ratio.
The drive pinion is separately supported by two tapered roller bearings (5) in the slewing gear housing (6). For
simple installation and removal of the drive motor, it is attached to the pinion via multitoothing (7). This means
that only the two fastening screws (8) have to be loosened to replace the motor.
The motor is protected against overloads from excessive operating pressures and/or reactive torques by two
pressure limiting valves (9).
Abrupt changes in direction during rotary motion should always be avoided.

Rotating union description:

The rotating union provides a continuous oil supply to the attachment, even with a continuous rotary motion. The
oil goes through the connections (1) into the distributor plate (2) that is flanged onto the rotor (3). This transfers
the oil via annular ducts (4) to the bore holes (5) in the stator (6). These are then correspondingly connected
with the attachment via an oil distributor. The individual ducts are sealed off from each other and the outside
with special rotary seals.
The rotor is separately supported axially and radially on the stator with sliding elements (7).

Bearing description:
For supporting and transferring radial and axial loads applied to the attachment, the DWP-15 is equipped with
load-bearing sliding bearings.
The flange sleeve (2) attached to the retaining ring (1) absorbs the axial tensile forces as well as the lateral
radial forces. The large thrust washer (3) absorbs the axially occurring pressure forces.
