All Eyez on Me was a great movie focusing on the life of infamous rapper Tupac Shakur, Tupac
Shakur was a young man who was born in Harlem but relocated to Los Angeles. Tupac is
believed to be one of the best rappers if not the best rapper dead or alive, either way you look at
it is Tupac was a very talented rapper coming out of the west coast. The movie shows the growth
of Tupac Shakur from a boy to a man also shows the daily life of a young rapper in America. but
even though I loved the movie others did not so much agree with my opinion this movie brought
up a lot of conflict, many people who said the movie is false and some of the event in the movie
is not true. I believe this was a great film of the prolific rapper from everything I heard of him it
Although many people gave bad feedback of the movie I really enjoyed the movie the movie
showed me sides of the infamous rapper that I never knew about. The beginning of the movie
starts off with Tupac being interviewed while he was in prison, then after that the movie goes
into a flashback the movies shows his father and his mother who were both part of the Black
panther part. Then one scene for his birthday his mother gave him a journal and told him that if
he uses this he will become rich, I was confused on this part because I know if I was a kid at that
age I would not want to a journal given to me on my birthday. But his mother was right because
as he got older Tupac got into poetry this is not hard to believe because if anybody ever heard a
song from him knows that his words in every song is so deep but also, he has the perfect voice
Tupac got his first chance to actually perform with the famous hip-hop group called Digital
Underground at first, he was a just a roadie and a backup dancer, but the movie shows that Pac
got tired of just being a backup and he gave digital underground an ultimatum, really saying let
me show my true talent or I am out. The rap group gave in and his first song with the group was
called Same Song soon after him releasing this song he instantly blew up and got notice from
record labels all around the world. This was not even the song that showed the world that Tupac
was here to stay Tupac dropped a song named “Brenda’s Got a Baby” this song was really brutal
attacking the social injustice, poverty and police brutality happening around the world.
Actually New York times publisher Glenn Kenny said that All Eyez on me is “not only clumsy
and often bland account of his life and work, but also gives little genuine insight into his thought,
talent or personality” (Kenny). The reason he may say this because the director made Tupac out
to be a thug and was making the movie more focusing on his rage and angry moments instead of
showing the real person he was who everybody knew and loved him for the outspoken man who
stood up for his people to show that we need to stand up to our oppressors instead of going with
the everyday life. But on the other hand, you’ve had many other people who reviewed the movie
said that they believed the movie was worth seeing. Owen Gleiberman said, “Highly worth
seeing, because in its volatility and hunger and the hidden desperation of its violence, it captures
something about the space in which Tupac Shakur lived” (Gleiberman). This is what I got from
the movie the movie was very informational and gave anybody who knew nothing about the
but this movie also opened up the eyes of many people who believed Tupac Shakur to just be a
thug. But now because of the movie showing the growth of him and also the struggle he went
through many had the opportunity to see a side of this man that nobody ever thought they would
be able to see. This movie gave me a terrific insight on the rapper and made me respect his craft
even more knowing his struggle, this also pushed me to go out in life and never give up no
