Enhancing Physical Fitness

Introduction

The experiment was that of finding a physical fitness enhancer and describing its effects on
health, bringing forth the advantages and disadvantages then presenting it to a group. My
group had decided to look up the health enhancer called C4 also known as Pre-workout. There
were 3 other options that we had, but didn’t know much about or what they really did. Thus,
choosing C4 as it has to deal a lot more with your body due to you swallowing something to
gain mass, energy, and help lose weight. C4, based on previous knowledge and personal use we
put together a hypothesis that too much of this substance would be not good for your health,
and bad in the long run.

Results

While researching the effects both good and bad of C4, there were a lot. On the product, itself
it does not say what the bad effects are, instead it mentions that if you have any certain type of
health problems: High blood pressure, Cardiac problems, pregnant, etc. Do not use this
product. Doesn’t say why or anything else. It did although mention the good things. Each scoop
contains a 150 mg of caffeine and it helps to give that extra boost of focusing and a little bit of
energy, but the energy comes from the 425 mg of explosive energy blend (it doesn’t mention
what the blend is exactly). There are a lot of ingredients some of which are not so good for you.
One ingredient that is used in a lot of the C4 products is creatine Nitrate. Creatine is a
material/powder that makes your blood cells and body absorbs your water, the bad part about
this is that you NEED to drink lots of water. There is a warning on the label that mentions this as
well.

If you have creatine and you do not drink lots of water, there are a lot of outcomes such as
dizziness, dehydration, vomiting, and severe muscle cramps. There are a lot of disadvantages
from this product. Firstly, delayed on-set muscle soreness, this is caused by the amount of
caffeine you are in taking and having an adrenaline increase. You are lifting more than what you
should be, and with your muscles being absent from water, and having the extra caffeine you
will be sore, but it pops up randomly it isn’t a normal soreness. You have to much energy in
your body. This also has to involve muscle cramping. The thing about muscle cramps and this
product is that it absorbs your water in your body. As mentioned before you shouldn’t take
more than one scoop, and no more than 2 scoops in a 24 hour period, and you must drink an
excessive amount of water. More than one scoop will upset your stomach, mess with your cells
and cause some to pop/burst. There are many other crazy side effects, such as itching, muscle
spasms, fatigue, highblood pressure and so on. These are some of the side effects my
classmates felt after using C4 before.
There were 6 groups for this project, and each group discussed many different substances: Alli,
Slim fast, Whey Protein, Hydroxy but black, Apidren, and C4. Many of these substances were
diet pills, or shakes. A few were workout substances like whey protein and C4. They all had
different effects both good and bad. After listening to their group discussions though, I would
prefer to either do whey protein or alli. Whey protein is good for working out helps with
recovering after a workout. But alli is an over the counter diet pill that helps to lose weight. It
has very small amounts of substances, such as orlistat. Only has 60 mg compared to the rest
that have double or triple this amount. It has very good ratings, and a few small negative
amounts of effects to your body. It would be the best for me and what I would be trying to
accomplish. I am trying to lose weight, as well as with working out and eating healthy. The alli
pill you take with your biggest meal of the day. But you must include working out as well. With
the help of the ‘diet pill’ and working out it would be the best approach to my fitness.

Conclusion

Based on the results from researching C4 and listing the effects. I would say that C4 isnt very
good for your health in the long run. There is a warning say don’t use for more than 8 weeks.
The product is good for a short period of time, but there are way too many types of negative
effects on your body that it wouldn’t be worth it for the outcome that a person would be
expecting. TO many things to take into considerations when trying to use C4. If any medical
problems in the past in your family or anything you shouldn’t use it. With the few good
advantages this product possess, it isn’t enough to cancel out the disadvantages, so this
product isn’t a good product to use for your body.
