AirScrape kontrolliert Staub und Material
im Dolomit Werk
AirScrape controls dust and material at a dolomite plant
H erkömmliche Seitenabdichtungen werden auf den Gurt
gedrückt, damit Staub und Material an der Fördergurt-
Übergabe in der Mitte des Fördergurts bleibt. Doch nach einer
gewissen Zeit ist der Verschleiß an Dichtung und Gurt so groß,
dass das Material und der Staub wieder entweichen können.
So kommt es zu unnötiger Materialverschüttung und Stau-
bentwicklung. So auch bei der Rump & Salzmann Gipswerk
Uehrde GmbH & Co. KG, die in Uehrde einen Dolomitstein-
bruch betreibt. Hier gab es an der Übergabe vom Rotorbrecher
zum Gurt immer große Probleme mit Staub und Material-
verlusten. Mehrere Tonnen von
Materialverschüttung mussten
im Quartal an dieser Übergabe
beseitigt werden. Immer wie-
der gab es Wartungsarbeiten an
der Übergabestelle sowie an den
Dichtungen.
Schließlich nahm der Betriebslei-
ter bei Rump & Salzmann, Uwe
Schridde, Kontakt zu ScrapeTec
auf. Nach Überprüfung der Ge-
gebenheiten vor Ort wurde der AirScrape Seitenabdichtung t AirScrape skirting
AirScrape montiert (Bild). Der
AirScrape arbeitet nach einem komplett neuen Prinzip, er liegt
1-2 mm berührungslos über dem Gurt. Durch die Lamellen an
der Dichtung und der Geschwindigkeit des Gurtes, wird Luft
von außen nach innen gezogen, wodurch weder Staub noch
Material nach außen entweichen kann. Da das System berüh-
rungslos arbeitet, gibt es auch keinen Verschleiß und das System
kann somit ohne Wartungsarbeiten einwandfrei arbeiten.
Auch 3 Jahre nach der Installation sind kaum Verschleißspuren
an der installierten Seitenabdichtung zu erkennen. Uwe Schrid-
de berichtet: „Wir sind mehr als zufrieden mit den Ergebnissen.
Die Staub- und Material-Verschüttungsprobleme sind gelöst.
Seit der Installation gab es keinen Grund mehr für Wartungs-
oder Reinigungsarbeiten“, berichtet Uwe Schridde.

C onventional skirting is pressed against a conveyor belt so
that dust and material stays in the middle of the belt when
it reaches a belt transfer point. But after a certain time, wear at
the skirting and belt can be so severe that material and dust can
escape.The result is unnecessary spillage of material and forma-
tion of dust.This used to be the case at Rump & Salzmann Gip-
swerk Uehrde GmbH & Co. KG, which operates a dolomite
quarry in Uehrde. Here, at the transfer from the rotary crusher
to the belt conveyor, there were always big problems with dust
and material losses. Several tonnes of material spillage had to be
removed at this transfer point
every three months. Repeated

the transfer point and the belt
skirting.
Finally, operations manager
at Rump & Salzmann, Uwe
Schridde, contacted ScrapeTec.
Following an assessment of the
situation on site, AirScrape
was installed (Fig.). AirScrape
works according to a com-
pletely new principle, it hovers
1-2 mm contactless over the belt.Through the diagonally fitted
plates and the speed of the running belt, air is drawn from the
outside inwards, as a result of which neither dust nor material
can escape. As the system works in a contactless arrangement,
there is no wear and the system can therefore operate perfectly
without maintenance.
Even three years after the installation, hardly any traces of wear
can be identified at the side skirting. Uwe Schridde reports:“We
are more than satisfied with the results. The dust and material
spillage problems are resolved. Since the installation there has
been no longer any reason for maintenance or cleaning work.”
