Things that Makes Public Relations Special

MIRI – Curtin University Malaysia has just announced recently that they will be hosting the
17th Global Communications Project, also known as GlobCom 2019. This event will be
happening from June 7 to 9 at the Auditorium in Curtin University Malaysia.

GlobCom is annual international multi-cultural communications project involving 15

different global universities from 5 continents.

This will be the second time the university has been chosen to host GlobCom in Miri as the
first one in 2015 was a huge success. Curtin University Malaysia is hoping that this year’s
GlobCom will be even better than the first.

The universities participating at this year’s GlobCom will be Curtin University Australia,
Curtin University Malaysia, Chulalongkorn University (Thailand), Leeds Beckett University
(United Kingdom), Ramon Llull University (Spain), AUT University (New Zealand),
Polytechnic Institute of Lisbon (Portugal), Emerson College (USA), Stellenbosch University
(South Africa), University of Erfurt (Germany), Universidad de Valparaiso (Chile), Zayed
University (United Arab Emirates), Institute of Journalism & Mass Communication
(Commits) (India), Università degli Studi di Udine (Italy), and St Petersburg State University
(Russia).
Co–founder of the GlobCom project and president of Global Communication Institute e.V.,
Volker Stoltz, stated that he is very pleased to choose Curtin University Malaysia again as the
host for this year’s GlobCom after their huge success in 2015.
“I am so excited to see what Curtin University Malaysia has in store for the 17th Global
Communications Project and I have faith that they will do an even better job than the first
GlobCom they hosted back in 2015,” said Volker Stoltz, the co–founder of the GlobCom
project.

Dr. Kamala Vainy Pillai, the event organiser and a lecturer from Curtin University
Malaysia’s Department of Marketing and Management, Faculty of Business and Humanities,
said that she is looking forward to another exciting and successful GlobCom being held in
Miri.
