Civil Disobedience/Boston Tea Party

A. The Boston Tea Party started in the early 1700s to be more exact its begin date was

December, 16, 1773. The Boston Tea Party had occured in 3 British Ships docked to the Boston

Harbor which was located in Massachusetts. The Boston Tea Party took place because the

colonists did no want to pay high taxes on the British Tea, the British thought that the tea would

put all of the colonists out of business. The people behind the act of the Boston Tea Party

received a lot of attention is went national everybody knows about it and it might be one of the

biggest Civil Disobedience act in history. As a result of the Boston Tea Party, the British shut

down the Boston Harbor until all of the 340 chests of the tea were paid for(Intolerable Acts). The

impact of the Boston Tea Party was huge in the end leading to the American Revolution which

began in Massachusetts on April, 19, 1775.

B. The Boston Tea Party was a big event in the U.S history it lead the colonists to start the

American Revolution which then led to Independence day(July 4th). The people who decided

that enough is enough and wanted to start a change needed to make big sacrifices. Such as

knowing that they mabey jailed or even killed through a mob of people who didn't agree to his

choice or just the company taking action on them. The people who take part in Civil
Disobedience usually don't have to alienate themselves from others people usually alienate

themselves from them. They could find them dangerous or just have fear that something might

go wrong. In my eyes Civil Disobedience has a positive impact for example the Boston Tea

Party if these people didn't throw the tea over the people might have never rebelled and gained

their independence.

C. Im protesting against the high taxes the the British had imposed on us the colonists. I am

choosing to passively resist by causing no physical harm to a person just there bank, I go to there

ships and throw the tea chest of causing damage to the british. I'm not alone because I wouldn't

be able to throw 300 chest by myself and it was only a small amount of chests won't have the

same impact that 300 would have. My family should be proud and afraid of what might happen if

I get caught but proud because i'm helping change happen. My motives were just o make the

high taxes go away and the unfair things the British are doing to us. I received a lot of publicity

for this action matter affect a few years from now we will be fight for our freedom. If I had the

option to go back in time and change this I wouldn't.
