Focus & Aim
Customer training is fully embedded into SAFRAN Landing Systems’ Customer Support Division. Our
trainings are designed against a backdrop of in-service operational data, latest maintenance practices
and trouble-shooting procedures.

This course will comprise a classroom instruction on ATR 42/72 family landing gear, held in English.
The aim is to instruct and assist customers with basic understanding on the ATR 42/72 landing gears,
as well as their maintenance. All trainings are ICAO ATA104 compliant.

The training will be led by an experienced and qualified instructor, ensuring an optimum exchange of
expertise and know-how obtained during years of working in the industry. This will be a unique
opportunity for the customers to acquire detailed understanding on Safran Landing Systems landing
gear design and to share any doubts or concerns regarding maintenance of their respective fleets.

Objectives
This training course aims at:
• Improving existing knowledge on ATR 42/72 main and nose landing gear
• Giving a detailed description of all the landing gear components
• Pointing out the main differences between the 42 and 72 main landing gear versions
• Displaying in service experiences and a best practice maintenance manual

Audience
All maintenance and engineering staff involved in landing gear maintenance and inspection
(Engineering, MCC, Line maintenance), as well as actors in field support representative roles.
In order to ensure an optimum delivery of this course and due to restrictions of the facility, the number
of participants per training course is restricted to a maximum number of 5.

Deliverables
Deliverables can be subject to change for specific training sessions, but in all cases participants will
receive at least:
• A certificate of attendance
• An electronic copy of training course book material.(theoretical presentation)

Duration / Agenda
This training course will last three days.

Below you will find a typical schedule for this training. This training always runs from Tuesday to
Thursday, but the daily schedule can be adjusted according to the number of attendees and the level
of expertise of the group as a whole.

Training course content
Day 1 – ATR 42/72 Family Nose Landing Gear Theory
The training will be held in an adequate venue, and the course content will be provided based on
Microsoft Power Point. For day one, the following bullet points will be addressed by the training officer
on site:
• Detailed description of leg assembly and structure, shock absorber, electrical harness as well
as actuators and side and drag braces
• Practical demonstration on ATR nose landing gear situated on site.
• In-service issues & recommended Service Bulletins
• General maintenance recommendations

Day 2 – ATR 42/72 Family Nose Landing Gear Workshop


Similarly, day two will comprise the following:
• Detailed description of leg assembly and structure, shock absorber, electrical harness as well
as actuators and side and drag braces
• Displaying main differences between ATR 42 and ATR 72 main landing gear
• Introducing an in-service experience bulletin on best practice maintenances
• Practical demonstration on ATR main landing gear situated on site.

For information: In the work shop the Landing Gears are real gears and in vertical position with similar
situation like on wing.

Note: Only the theoretical part of this training can be performed in your facilities.

Pre-requisites
Due to the fact that the offered training course is compliant with level 3 concerning ICOAO ATA104, a
basic technical background on landing gear and their operation must be existent with all the
participants, as well as a preceding completion of a basic level 3 training course.
This is in order to render this course an optimum exchange of knowledge and expertise between all
the participants and the training officer.

This training course stands in direct correlation with the commercial proposal presented by the
SAFRAN Landing Systems marketing division.
