Leave Policy

S.No 1. Casual Leave (CL):

Casual leave is intended to meet special or unforeseen circumstances.


1. All employees, i.e. Trainees, Probationers and Confirmed employees are eligible for this leave.
2. All employees are entitled for 8 days CL and is credited on January 1 every year.
3. For employees who have joined midyear CL would be credited proportionately
4. It cannot be taken for more than 2 consecutive days
5. It can either be prefixed or suffixed with weekly offs and public holidays. Any intervening weekly off or public
holiday would not become a part of CL.
i.e. CL W H/PH A = 1CL & 2 Absents or A W H/PH CL=1CL & 2 Absents
6. On no account can it be prefixed or suffixed to EL and/or SL
7. Unused CL will lapse at the end of calendar year.

S.No 2. Earned Leave (EL):

The purpose of granting this leave is for rest and recuperation of one’s own health and hence employees are
expected to avail this leave every year.
1. Employees are eligible for maximum of 12 days EL in a calendar year.
2. It is applicable and granted to permanent employees only. Employees should apply for EL before 15 days from
the date.
3. This leave will be credited to the employees account depends upon the working days. I.e. for 20 working days 1
EL is credited.
4. This leave cannot be combined with Casual leave.
5. Paid holidays or weekly off can be prefixed and suffixed but in case a holiday or weekly off is intervening during
the period of Earned leave, the same will be treated as part of Earned leave.
6. EL cannot be prefixed or suffixed to CL.

S.No 3.Sick Leave (SL):

1. Sick Leave can be clubbed with Earned Leave only. It cannot be clubbed with Casual Leave or Maternity Leave
(unless there is a medical complication in the pregnancy, in which case Sick Leave can be clubbed along with
Maternity Leave).
2. Week-ends and any Holidays in between a Sick Leave will not be treated as Sick Leave i.e. Sick Leave is only
computed in working days.
3. Medical certificate/report from a Registered Medical Employee must support all sick leaves that are in excess of
3 consecutive working days. The supporting documents are required to understand the nature of medical
condition to help plan the workload for the Employee once she/he rejoins work following the period of infirmity.

Note:
It is the responsibility of every employee to ensure that he/she obtains written sanction of leave before availing
and if he/she fails to do so and absents himself /herself on the assumption that his/her leave is sanctioned he/she
takes the risk of being as absent without leave and liable for disciplinary action.
