A. Content Standards The learners demonstrate an understanding of:
 demonstrates understanding of the particle nature of matter as basis for explaining
properties, physical changes, and structure of substances and mixtures
B. Performance The learners shall be able to:
Standards  present how water behaves in its different states within the water cycle
C. Learning Learning Competency:
Competencies and
Objectives The learners should be able to…
 explains the properties of solids, liquids and gases based on the particle nature of matter

Competency Code: S8MT-IIIa-b-8

Objectives:
At the end of the lesson, the students should be able to:
1. Infer from given situations or observable events what matter is made of; and
2. Explain how these observed situations or events give evidence that matter is made up of
tiny particles.
3. Explain that there are varying spaces in between the particles of matter depending on the
state of matter.
4. Realize the benefits of having large spaces between the molecules of gas.
