Learning Design for: Symmetry in Geometrics

Context
Topic: Symmetry in Mathematic
Total learning time: 60
Number of students: 20
Description: - Students are required to make a simple drawing of symmetrical figure. - They
will upload the drawings on a Padlet. - The class analyze the drawings. - For brainstorming,
the teacher uses Mentimer to ask to students questions - The teacher introduces to
students what is symmetry by showing the video - After watching the videos students are
trying to think, conclude and explain which geometrical figures are symmetrical. - Teachers
is showing to students some images that are example of symmetry - Students have to work
on a short presentation about their work. - Teacher is showing review

Aims
- students learn about symmetry in general, not just strictly in mathematics. -students are
required to think about lines of symmetry of figure or object and to conclude if some figure
is symmetrical or not. -students have to communicate and explain the results of their
activity. -students work together during the activity. -students learn which websites are
reliable to find information about symmetry in mathematics.
