I am working in the field of humanitarian aid for more than 18 years, since June 2000. In these years I
have worked in several interventions on education, anti-trafficking, biodiversity, HIV / AIDS prevention,
general health and income generation, either as an external resource person or as a project employee, in
the following states and union territories of India:

Major Assignments: I am associated with humanitarian / philanthropic / social development related


work for more than 18 years; for the last 5 years I am working mainly as an external resource person. I
have been associated with various processes of project conceptualization, initiation, implementation,
monitoring, evaluation / impact assessment and documentation. Some of my past and present
assignments are:

For Rotary South Asia Society for Development and Coperation (RSAS). The RSAS projects are
implemented in all over India. I have worked in the following states for them: Bihar, Jharkhand, Madhya
Pradesh, Odisha, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal, and also in the union territories of
Chandigarh and the National Capital Territory of Delhi. In these interventions I have done onsite
monitoring, evaluation and documentation of the following ongoing project activities (since October
2016- ):

 E-learning: installation of e-learning system in schools to make learning interesting, to reduce the
ratio of dropouts in Government Schools.

 Adult Literacy: improving of the ratio of adult persons through one to one teaching program, using
school students as volunteer teachers to educate willing adult persons.

 Child Development: bridge course program to support the out of school, dropout and laggard
children for their mainstreaming.

For HelpAge India in collaboration with Ecociate Consultants Pvt. Ltd, I have conducted assessment of
livelihood opportunities for the members of Elderly Self Help Groups (ESHG), the ESHGs and the
Federations of ESHGs in Supaul, Bihar and Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh. March 2019.

For Seva Kendra Calcutta (SKC) as external resource person for the following interventions in West
Bengal, April 2018 – March 2019.

 Anti-Human Trafficking: Formation of Kishori Bahini (Taskforce of Young Girls) to prevent child
marriage. Training on community vigilance for Self-Help Groups and PRI (Panchayati Raj
Institution) members to prevent cross border trafficking.

 Children led Disaster Risk Reduction – capacity building of children of 12 to 18 years about the
dos and don’ts regarding per, during and post disaster situations to minimize its impact over
vulnerable population.

For ActionAid Association in collaboration with The Calcutta Samaritans in West Bengal: I have
conducted the End-Line Survey of their project for “Securing rights and sustainable livelihoods through
collective action and education for people dependent on the informal economy (PIE) in India”. February
2019.

For Caritas India I have conducted the evaluation of Swaraksha Anti-Human Trafficking program. The
locations of interventions were Bahraich, Gorakhpur and Lucknow in Uttar Pradesh. The project was
implemented by 3 partner organizations of Caritas India in the Indo-Nepal border areas. November
2018.

For Child In Need Institute (CINI) in collaboration with Turnstone Global I have conducted the
Quantitative Assessment of Reproductive and Child Health (RCH) intervention in Kolkata Urban Slum:
first phase end-line and second phase Baseline Surveys. March and September 2017.

For UNDP in collaboration with Catalyst Management Services Pvt. Ltd. I have conducted the
assessment of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana – Gramin (PMAY-G). The assignment was about taking
feedbacks about pros and cons of the scheme and, the process of its implementation from Government
Officials in the districts of Kamrup, Cachar and Dima Hasao of Assam. March 2017.

For Margdarshak Development Projects & Consulting Ltd. I have conducted the baseline survey for
Zuari Agro Chemicals Limited (ZUARI) for expansion of their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR)
activities in the area of Velsao, Panchayat (Village Council) of Goa. March 2016.

For Institute of Psychological & Education Research (IPER) I have conducted the situational analysis /
impact assessment of one Kolkata Municipal Corporation (KMC) School as case study to understand the
impact of the educational services provided by such schools for urban poor. January 2013.

The Skill Set: conducting surveys, development of monitoring tools, evaluation of projects,
preparation of reports and proposals and, training of staff.

Consultancy and Esteemed Clients: I have conducted evaluation of projects, assessment of


organizations, and training of staff for Project Cycle Management (PCM) and, documentation of

Trafficked Nepalese Girls and Women in Mumbai and Kolkata, India"

Employment history and the list of Organizations: As a professional social worker I have
worked:

(1) For the out of school children in the coastal areas, salt pans, deserts and forests of Eastern and
Western India who need support under bridge course programs to make them ready for mainstreaming
into Government Schools; (2) for the cultural, economic and social development of adult illiterate
persons, by implementation of adult education programs through schools using their students as
volunteer teachers; (3) for the development of the rural poor, though SHG based interventions involving
income enhancement programs for rural women and for the development of rural infrastructure; (4) for
the rights and education of the sex-workers, children of sex-workers and minor sex-workers living in the
red-light-areas; (5) for the educational development of children living in some of the slums; and (6) for
educational development of children of migrant brickfield workers and child laborers.

Education (Informal): Home Schooling, Self-Learning, Work Experience and on the Job Training: I
am largely a self-taught person, assisted from time to time by my parents, some teachers, book sellers,
friends, acquaintances, colleagues, wife, daughter and lately the World Wide Web. I use the Bengali, Hindi
and English languages. My interests include drawing and painting, literature, football, films, music,
cooking, tailoring, jute craft, visualizing and writing illustrated materials for the digital and print mode.
