Opening Prayer
Welcome: Austin
Good morning teachers, students and parents and welcome to our Liturgy. Today we join together to
celebrate God’s love for us.
Hymn
Greeting (Father)
In the name of the Father and of the Son and the Holy Spirit
The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God and the communion of the Holy Spirit be with
you all
Lord Jesus, you have called us to love one another. Lord have mercy
Lord Jesus, you have taught us how to love those around us. Christ have mercy
Lord Jesus, in your love you have healed us and forgiven us. Lord have mercy
Introduction (Father)
Lord, open our ears to hear your Holy Word. Open our hearts to understand it. Open our lips to praise
your goodness and love.
In the days when the judges ruled, there was a famine in the land, and a certain man of
Bethlehem in Judah went to live in the country of Moab, he and his wife and two sons. But
Elimelech, the husband of Naomi, died, and she was left with her two sons. These took Moabite
wives; the name of the one was Orpah and the name of the other Ruth. When they had lived there
about ten years, both Mahlon and Chilion also died, so that the woman was left without her two
sons and her husband.
Then she started to return with her daughters-in-law from the country of Moab, for she had
heard in the country of Moab that the Lord had considered his people and given them food. Then
they wept aloud again. Orpah kissed her mother-in-law, but Ruth clung to her.
So she said, “See, your sister-in-law has gone back to her people and gods; return after sister-in-
law.” But Ruth said, “Do not press me leave you or turn from following you! Where go, I will go;
lodge, lodge; shall be my people, God God.
So Naomi returned together with Ruth the Moabite, her daughter-in-law, who came back with
her from the country of Moab. They came to Bethlehem at the beginning of the barley harvest.
The word of the Lord
Alleluia, alleluia!
I am the good shepherd, says the Lord;
I know my sheep, and mine know me.
Alleluia!

Father: God is faithful, always loving and willing to listen to us. Let us now bring our needs to God,
confident in God’s fatherly love.
We pray for our Pope, Francis, may he continue to remind us how we should always follow in the
footsteps of Jesus and try to be holy each day. Lord hear us.

We pray for Archbishop Timothy Costello, Bishops, priests and all in religious life. May they continue
to grow in strength and courage, being good models of how to love God and other people as Jesus
did. Lord hear us.
We pray for those who are sick, especially those who are relatives of our school community. May
our prayers and love help them to heal. Lord hear us.
Response: Lord hear our prayer
For all students and families at Star of the Sea, that we might experience the blessings, love, and
graces poured out by God the Father. Lord hear us.

Dismissal – Montana
'Cause even in the dark you can still see the light
It's gonna be alright, it's gonna be alright
This is the first day of the rest of your life
This is the first day of the rest of your life
Oh, 'cause even in the dark you can still see the light
It's gonna be alright, oh, it's gonna be alright
And love will hold us together
Make us a shelter weather the storm
And I'll be my brothers keeper
So the whole world will know that we're not alone
