Well in my article I would like to emphasize that currently logistics has become an
important factor for the creation of value and the increase of service levels of
companies, because this allows them to compete under consistent time and space
conditions, since, Having a good logistic management not only of the internal
processes but also of the distribution processes admits an advantage with just in
time, so that the manufactured products reach the final consumer in the right place
and at the right time.

Thus, each one of the logistic activities plays an important role from the input of the
inputs, the manufacture of the products and the final destination of the same;
Proper supply allows the company to provide itself at the right time with the inputs,
avoiding delays in production, and the correct storage of both materials and
products is necessary for the availability and fair delivery to customers and finally
the distribution responsible for the transportation which allows for the proper
location of the product, whether it is the disposal of the final consumer or the
intermediaries.

That is why as logistics technologists we must bear in mind that for good storage
management, possible problems of planning, technology, culture and information
processes must be analyzed, which may be the cause of poor performance and an
inappropriate flow of materials. , which makes it difficult to access new markets and
the survival of the business, as this diminishes their competitiveness, since the big
problem that many companies have today is the culture of disorganization in their
warehouse and this leads to higher costs of both consumption, as opportunity, is
why this area should be well structured, because it directly affects other
departments of the company, such as production, commercial and purchasing, and
indirectly affects the customer because the poor management of this, makes
delivery times are increased and often the quality of the products is affected if they
are not well stored

It is also important to know that currently logistics has become a key factor of
competitiveness for companies and countries, since it allows to have adequate
distribution channels that provide a better and greater flow of materials and
finished products, facilitating the access of people to them and generating
important negotiations between companies, so that the current economic
environment requires organizations to implement strategies that allow an efficient
development and a response to the various national and international markets

For this reason, colleagues must take into account that logistics is a practice that
helps to give a rational structure to all areas of the company, which affect or
directly or indirectly affect the perception of the service in the client, that is why
Logistics processes related to procurement, storage and distribution gain
importance in the various companies and different sectors.

It is also very important to understand ourselves as technologists in logistics that:

the supply chain is a process that seeks to achieve a clear vision of the supply of
raw materials, components or semi-finished products that entails making orders to
suppliers, transportation, Warehousing and factory supply based on a joint work of
suppliers, manufacturers, warehouse and retail businesses so that the
merchandise is produced and distributed in the right quantities, in the right places,
in a fair time in order to minimize costs that do not add value and improve Quality
and compliance

At the same time, it is important to bear in mind that procurement must be

consistent not only with production needs but also with storage possibilities, since
all companies have a different inventory management capacity so that for
organizations it becomes fundamental have good inventory management that
allows good management and storage of both inputs or raw materials from the
procurement activity and finished products that enter the final stage of production.

And although it is true that having an inventory generates different costs, it is

necessary to analyze the cost-benefit, since owning it will allow companies to have
the right product in the right place at the right time, giving them a competitive
advantage, since this will It offers the possibility of reaction to a possible change in
demand, in addition to achieving an advantage by buying volumes or having a
larger stock of critical products in the face of a possible shortage, and that is why in
productive companies it is extremely necessary to have a warehouse where a
good inventory of their inputs and finished products that allow a better response to
the market.

On the other hand the strategy through customer service is a challenge that is
currently in all organizations, which is to generate good customer service where he
feels satisfied and can achieve lasting relationships with the same where "the
service is generally it requires human interaction to some degree, where buyer and
seller get in touch in a relatively personal way to create the service

Finally, it can be assured that the importance of good management of the entire
logistics chain of the organization is very great, since the coordination of all these
activities and the good use of resources is achieved by generating a competitive
advantage not only through the efficiency in the costs but in the generation of the
value always obtaining the preference on the part of the clients and consequently
obtaining a sustenance in the market.

It is recommended to implement the suggestions of the improvement plan, taking

into account that it does not imply a high investment for its execution and on the
contrary it will help to improve the efficiency of the storage center of the company
allowing a better control of all the materials, supplies and products finished.

It is also recommended to make a change of shelves for tubular and long loads
that will allow a better handling of this type of elements and an adequate use of the
space, in addition they will help to increase the volume stored, making the space
more efficient

It is necessary to train all the personnel that work within the department on storage
techniques, care of materials, technical standards and security to be implemented
within the warehouse.

It is important that they recognize that the design of the warehouse must be
oriented towards the achievement of the company's objectives and that it must also
be connected with the production, purchasing, sales and distribution departments
so that the products that are distributed to the end customers they allow the
company every time to obtain advantages over delivery times, that is, speed,
compliance and product quality
