Thus, the system will make a decision and sends the

Application also shares the exact location of the accident that
can save the time. This system is also used to monitor the
speed of the vehicle and to avoid accident by using the speed
sensor. If the speed is greater than the predefined value then
the alarm will enable to indicate the driver to reduce the
speed.

INTRODUCTION
There are different systems are applied to automobiles such as Emergency Brake
Assist, Dynamic Stability and Traction Control, Electronic Brake Distribution, Anti-Lock
braking system, Blind Spot Information System, Night Vision etc, & these are extremely
costly as they compulsorily need a computer for their implementation and in most of the
cases GPS is mandatory. More over all these systems are singular problem oriented, hence

there is a need of a cost-effective low-end technology or device that can perform the function
of over-speed indication alarm and brake control with minimal use of high-end technology,
suitable for low budget commercial vehicles.
The motor vehicle population is growing at a faster rate than the economic and
population growth. Accidents and the death rates due to road accidents, especially two
wheelers are also increasing at an alarming rate. Most of the accident deaths that happen
due to the lack of immediate medical assistance, on the roads like express highways. A
facility for providing immediate medical assistance to the accident area can reduce the
fatality to a greater extend. Thus, comes the idea of an alert system that senses the accident
and its seriousness to alert the nearby medical center for providing ambulance or medical
aid to the accident area.

EXISTING SYSTEM
The system is intended to capture the location of the vehicle through GPS receiver,
send the location information to vehicle owner’s mobile number through SMS and also to
the telematics operator server through GPRS. Another prototype proposes a system to
detect and provide faster assistance to traffic accident victims.

2.1 Drawbacks
This system was implemented using GSM so network is major problem.
This system is sending the emergency alert to particular predefined few mobile
numbers only.

PROPOSED SYSTEM
The proposed system will avoid the accident by providing the additional wheel which
will support the vehicle if an angular velocity exceeds the threshold value that is measured
using accelerometer sensor and it will check whether an accident has occurred and identify
the seriousness of the injury to the accident victim/driver. Once the decision of serious
accident has taken, the system will check for the nearest medical center and notify them
about the incident. The rescue team can rush to the spot immediately without any delay as
the correct location will be communicated by the mobile phone of the accident victim. The
system will also send message to the friends and relatives to inform them about the incident
using IoT.

IoT Based Accident Avoidance and Detection System for Two Wheelers

RESULT

CONCLUSION
The progress in science & technology is a non-stop process. New things and new
technologies are being developed. As the technology grows day by day, we can imagine
about future in which thing we may occupy every place.
The proposed system based on ATMEL microcontroller [microchip] is found to be
more compact, user friendly and less complex, which can readily be used in order to perform
several tedious and repetitive tasks. Though it is designed keeping in mind about the need
for industry, it can extend for other purposes such as commercial & research applications.
Due to the probability of high technology (Atmel microcontroller) used this “IoT based
accident avoidance and detection system for two wheelers” system is fully software
controlled with less hardware circuit. These feature makes this system as base for future
systems.
