Item Sample Creation (Incoming Quality Testing)

The item sample window is the form for creation of samples for the purpose of quality testing and result recording.

To create an item sample, follow the following navigation path:

Navigation
Responsibility: Quality Manager > Samples > Item Samples

The Item sample form will appear

For recording Item samples for the purpose of ‘Incoming’ Quality testing, Following the following steps:

Enter the Oracle Item code in the Item field. This is the item for which you are creating the sample.

Select ‘Inventory’ in the Source field.

Enter the Subinventory and the Locator in which the inventory of the item has been buitl after receiving.

Enter the Lot number in the Lot field. This lot number is the one from which the item sample has been extracted.
Lot number is required for ‘Lot enabled’ items only.

Enter the Quality Laboratory as the inventory oraganization in which the quality testing will take place.

After you have entered the above mentioned data, click on the ‘Get Spec’ button,

The following window will open, in the window you will see the specification (standard) for the sample being
created. The specification contains all the tests required to be performed on the sample along with the desired target
results.

Click ok.

Save you work.

The system will generate a unique sample number for the sample. Note the sample number for reference.

The sample Disposition on saving will be ‘Pending’. Which is the required status of the sample for the purpose of
recording test results against the sample.

Item Sample Creation (Production Quality Testing)

The item sample window is the form for creation of samples for the purpose of quality testing and result recording for
in process as well as post production testing of items being produced.

To create an item sample, follow the following navigation path:

Navigation
Responsibility: Quality Manager > Samples > Item Samples

The Item sample form will appear

For recording Item samples for the purpose of production Quality testing, Following the following steps:

Enter the Oracle Item code in the Item field. This is the item for which you are creating the sample.

Select ‘WIP’ in the Source field.

Enter the Batch Number and the Batch Step Number for which you want to create the sample.

Enter the Quality Laboratory as the inventory oraganization in which the quality testing will take place.

After you have entered the above mentioned data, click on the ‘Get Spec’ button,

The following window will open, in the window you will see the specification (standard) for the sample being

Save you work.

recording test results against the sample. Where the samples are created in advance, i.e. where the production batch
step has not been release in Process Manufacturing Process Execution, the sample disposition will be ‘Planned’ and
has to be changed to ‘Pending’ to record results against the sample.

Recording Quality Results

Quality Results window is the form for recording of quality results against samples created in the system.

To record the quality results, you can either select ‘Results’ button given on the sample window or you can following
the following navigation patch to open the results window:

Navigation: Quality Manager > Results > Results

The following window will open:

Enter the Quality Results in Results column.

You can also update the actual results date and time in the ‘Actual Result Date’ field. The current system date and
time defaults in this field.

For reference purpose, you can also view the target results along with minimum and maximum possible result vales.

If you click on the ‘Evaluation’ tab, you will be able to see the system evaluation for each of the results entered.

For each of the result values entered, the system enables the ‘In Spec’ check mark. And for all the results which do not
fall in the allowed range, the ‘In Spec’ check box is blank as shown in the screen shot below.

You can associate an action on the result lines by selecting appropriate value from the actions field.

After you have recorded all the results for the tests appearing for the sample, you need to perform one last step that is
to change the disposition of the sample to Accept or Accept with Variance.

Where all the entered results are ‘In Spec’, the disposition automatically changes to ‘Complete’ and where the any of
the results are not ‘In Spec’ the disposition automatically changes to ‘In Progress’.

Where all the results are ‘In Spec’ you can change the disposition from ‘Complete’ to ‘Accept’, where the any of the
results are not ‘In Spec’ you can change the disposition to ‘Accept with Variance’

To change the disposition, click on the actions menu on the ‘Results’ window and select ‘Change Disposition’
Option.

Select appropriate value in the ‘Change Disposition To’ Field and click ok.

Report Generation
To generate a report from the system, follow the following navigation patch, or select ‘Requests’ from the View menu
at the top of the screen.
Navigation: Reports > Other Reports > Run

The following window will open:

Select ‘Single Request’ and click ‘Ok’. The following window will open.

Click on the name field. You will see a small button on the right of the field with 3 dots. Click on the button. This will
open a list of values containing all the reports associated with the responsibility you are using.

Select the report you want to generate from the system and click ‘Ok’.

The system will display the parameters (instructions) required for the selected report.

Enter the ‘Parameters’ as required and click ‘Ok’. And then click ‘Submit’
The system will display a message to prompt if you need to run another report, Click ‘No’.

To view the output of the report, follow the following navigation path:

Navigation: Reports > Other Reports > View

The following screen will open, Click ‘Find’

The following window will open.

Select the report that you summited, if it has been completed. If you see the report phase as ‘Pending’ or ‘Running’,
click on refresh data button on the top of the form. This action will refresh the form each time the button is clicked.

Once the report is completed, click on the view output button to view the report.
