TV News - Show Segment Rundown

The following is the general structure of a TV Show Segment. Complete a rundown for your TV Show
Segment using the chart below. Use proper terminology and follow the structure as provided. Remember,
segments are often repetitive.

1. Show Intro with Full Page GFX and music


2. Show Host O/C with Lower Thirds GFX, Bug and motion background

• Intro Show Segments
• Bumper GFX (as transition)
3. Segment #1 Intro - Segment #1 Host O/C
• Segment Reporter & Interviewees (2-4) - Question #1
• B-roll Video to support Question #1
• Segment Reporter & Interviewees (2-4) - Question #2
• B-roll Video to support Question #2
• Segment #1 Extro - Segment #1 Host O/C
4. Show Host O/C Extro - Segment #1
5. Show Host O/C Intro Segment #2
• Bumper GFX (as transition)

- make note of everything you hear

Graphics (GFX)
- make note of all graphic types (ie: Full Page, Lower Thirds, Bumper, Bug, Slab, Ticker)

Visuals
- make note of everything you see as a video clip and/or images (ie: O/C Host, O/C Reporter,
O/C Interviewee, B-roll footage, motion background, pictures)
- identify who is on screen (ie: Host O/C intro to 1st video segment or O/C Interview of dance
teacher)
