safety and the dangers of moving grain.
This program is designed for all people of all ages
involved in agriculture. It is important that every farm/
ranch owner understand the risks involved and applies
safe practices for adults and youth. For more information

It was a sunny and warm — and windy — Mother’s
Day, so here’s a random tidbit pointed out by Cherry
Creek Larry: on the date of May 12th, 1983, Glasgow
reported 10.1” of snowfall for the record snowiest May
day in Glasgow. The high and low that day were 34 and
28.
Looking ahead, a pattern change begins Thursday
afternoon as a cold front arrives and afternoon
showers and thunderstorms turn into a light steady
rain overnight. This will last into the weekend with
temperatures behind the front dropping below normal
into early next week.
Tonight: Partly cloudy, with a low around 53. East wind 7 to
10 mph.
Wednesday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 79. East wind
6 to 11 mph becoming west northwest 13 to 18 mph in the
morning. Winds could gust as high as 29 mph.
Wednesday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 46.
Northwest wind 9 to 15 mph becoming northeast after
midnight. Winds could gust as high as 23 mph.
Thursday: A 20 percent chance of showers. Mostly cloudy,
with a high near 65. East wind 10 to 17 mph, with gusts as
high as 30 mph.
Thursday Night: Showers, mainly after midnight. Low
around 45.
Friday: Showers likely. Cloudy, with a high near 57. Breezy,

Thank you to all that voted in the levy and
School Board elections this past week. Although the
results of the levy are extremely disappointing, we will
move on and focus on continuing to do what is best for
our kids, with the resources we have available.
There couple of things I would like to address. First,
as the Superintendent, I can only ask people to vote. I
cannot promote voting for the levy. Second, we are going
to do the best job we can so that the student’s of Glasgow
School District aren’t punished for a failed levy.
Hopefully, the District will have some external
groups help promote support for levy next year. Also,
in 2014, we had a second question on the bond ballot.
This was to address the track, football and softball fields,
amongst other item. We have not addressed the major
fixes that will be needed sooner, rather than later. We lost
a legion baseball tournament because of an unplayable
field. I do not want to get into a position where we will
not be able to host track meets in the future. Hosting
meets brings in additional revenue to Glasgow.
Our Graduation will be on May 26th at 3:00. The
ceremony will be held at the high school gym. Our
guest speaker will be Luke Hystad a 2005 graduate and
the son of Roger and Chris Hystad. Luke attended
Montana State University and currently works on the
Jimmy Kimmel Show.
The Scotty All-Sports Banquet will be held
Tuesday, May 28th at 6:00 pm at St. Raphael’s. The
speaker will be Jim Lockwood, a 1962 graduate. Jim was
the first individual Scotty to win a state championship.
Lockwood was a wrestler while attending Montana
State University and is a member of the Bobcat Hall of
Fame. After serving as a decorated Vietnam veteran, he
attended Syracuse Law School and was a lawyer for 30

For The People?
Scratch the word Governor when
introducing Steve Bullock? Or scratch
the word Montana from same? Either
way you are right. What allows this
person to deny folks who rely on Medicare and Medicaid
in Montana some relief from high prescription drugs and
high insurance costs?
Seems to me that SB71 was a good bill for all
Montanans so why did the Governor veto the bill? Does
anyone have any answers to that question? Does Governor
BS have an answer?
This was a bi-partisan bill folks, sponsored by a
Republican in the Senate and a Democrat in the House.
Can’t get much more bi-partisan than that! That just
proves that the two parties are willing to work together for
the good of all Montanans. How often does that happen!
What right has Gov BS have to arbitrarily veto this
good bill?
Alright, I hear you regressive’s saying “because he
can.” That’s just not good enough. I want the real reasons
he vetoed this bi-partisan bill.
Strike up the band, hold an election and bring on the
dancing girls! Let’s have an explanation party with the
guest of dishonor His Dis-Honor Himself, Governor BS.
This is the worst decision ever made by a Montana
Governor in regards to the well-being of thousands of
elderly folks, veterans and children who depend on
lower drug prices and other medical costs so they can
afford a little hamburger every now and then instead
of rice and red beans. (Which BTW is a staple in my
household that I really like....then and now but not

I’m not a Montana Constitutional scholar but I would bet
a dollar to a road apple and hold the stakes in my mouth that
there is nothing in either the state or federal constitutions that
would give the Governor reason to not sign SB71.
I certainly would not use the word “kickback” or
the phrase “for future consideration” in regards to our
esteemed Governor Bullock. Far be it from me to utter
such things about this honest yet unguided man who
has put the needs of large very wealthy pharmaceutical
companies and honest and fair insurance conglomerates
ahead of taxpaying and truly needy Montanans.
Why not just toss his hat in the ever growing ring of
Democrat party presidential hopeful’s. Oops, he just did.
I’m sure he will get plenty of big business backing him on
the campaign trail.
After he did what he did to Montanans on the Medicaid
issue, doesn’t it make you just giddy with anticipation to
think what he’ll do to America if he ever sits in the Oval
Office?
Just let it me say on behalf of the thousands of
Montanans who will suffer by your inconsiderate actions,
Governor Bullock....Shame on you!
