I. PRELIMINARIES

Course Code : ELECTIVE 2


Course Title : Personal Finance
Course Credit : 3 units
Time Allotment : 3 hours a week x 18 weeks= 54 hours/semester
Pre-requisite :
Course Description : The student will be given the general idea of what is involved in the science of handling money. The scope will cover
the performance of an individual or a family in budgeting, saving, spending monetary resources , taking into account of various financial risks and
other future events and practices such as earning, investing and other related activities involving personal financial management.

VII. COURSE REQUIREMENT:


The instructional material will have a series of cases illustrating the different concepts and theories on personal finance. The students will be provided
exercises/seat works that will introduce, explain and illustrate personal financial management.

Students will be required to make a budget plan, ipon challenge and different activities related to the course requirements.

Students will make a future financial plan of their future life events and a random selection for presentation will be done. The students also will be
required to describe themselves after 10 years related to their personal financial plans.

Additional Requirement: Student’s involvement and participation are required in the research and extension activities of the college.

VIII. EVALUATION CRITERIA:


The minimum requirement for a passing grade is 75% from the

Tentative Final Grade is multiplied by 2 + the Mid Term Grade divided by 3. Highest passing rate is 1.00 and the lowest is 3.00. Failure to comply with any of
aforementioned criteria means a failing grade of 5.00.

XI. CLASSROOM POLICIES:


Attendance
1.1. Students are expected to attend their classes regularly. A student is considered absent from class if he is not present within the first fraction of the
scheduled class time.
1.2. A student is considered late or tardy and shall receive a half absence if he arrives in class during first third fraction of the scheduled class time.
1.3. Students with 3 or more consecutive absences without prior notice or written consent form his/he parents or guardian will automatically be dropped
from the class.

Uniform
2.1 Students are required to wear proper uniform when attending classes. Male students will wear prescribed polo and slacks pants, black shoes and ID.
Female students will wear prescribed blouse and skirt on knee level, black close shoes with a recommendatory 1 inch heels, and ID. On Fridays, student
should wear the required departmental shirt of the college.
2.2 Aside from the official uniforms mentioned above, no other uniform will be accepted like PE and NSTP uniforms.

2.3 Students who attended classes not wearing proper and prescribed uniform will be instructed to fill-up some forms in the guidance office and talk to the
guidance coordinator of the college. Their attendance will not be considered but they may still be accepted in the class after they have accomplished the
form given by the guidance coordinator of the college.

Other Norms
3.1 Cheating in any form is not allowed in all the course requirements, like exercises, assignments, quizzes, term exam and research work.As reflected in the
students’ handbook, students caught on cheating will be given an automatic grade of 5.0.
3.2 The student may be dropped from subject depending on the gravity of the offense.
3.3 Use of cellphones and tablets is not allowed during classes. Gadgets will be confiscated for a day for those students caught on using such things during
classes.
3.4 Students are expected to maintain silence inside the class. If a student is disrupting the class he may be sent out of the class room and instructed to fill-up
some forms in the guidance office and talk to the guidance coordinator of the college. His/ Her unruly behavior will be recorded.
3.5 Student should maintain the cleanliness of the classrooms. Deduction in the students’ scores will be given if found guilty of loitering and unmindful of
trash in his or her surroundings.
3.6 Eating inside the room while the class is going on are not allowed.
3.7 Special quizzes and late submission of requirements will be allowed only on the condition that the student were sick and presented a medical certificate
the moment he or she get back to school.
