1. COMPLETE THE FOLLOWING WORD-PROCESSOR ACTIVITIES:


i. State how you would make adjustment a documents margins. (1 mark)
Possible answer:
 Go to page layout select margin and choose a pre-set margin; or select
margin and choose ‘custom margin’ and specify a margin size.

ii. Let’s say a document contain the heading “LIFE IS A BOX OF CHOLOCATE”.
(a) How would you underline the documents heading? (1 mark)
Possible answer:
 First shade the selected text and click the underline button in the home
quick access bar; or shade the selected text then press and hold ‘ctrl’ +
‘u’.

(b) List FOUR formatting features apart from underline. (4 marks)


Possible answer:
 Bold, italics, subscript, superscript, strikethrough, font, font size, font
colour, text highlight.

(c) How would you bold the heading and italise it. (2 marks)
Possible answer:
 First shade the selected text then go to the home tab then select bold
and italics; or shade the selected text then press and ‘ctrl’ + ‘b’ for bold
then ‘ctrl’ + ‘I’ for italics.

iii. How would you place the same heading on all of the pages automatically?
(1 mark)
Possible answer:
 Creating a header.

iv. Assuming that the first line of a word document contains the word “Sammy”.
List TWO ways to replace the word “Sammy” with the word “Paul”.(1 mark)

 Shade “Sammy” press delete or backspace and then type “Paul”; or


shade “Sammy” then right mouse click on it select cut and type “Paul”.

v. Assuming that there is a document with 5 paragraphs. How would you


interchange the first and fifth paragraphs? (2 marks)
Possible answer:
 Select replace in the home tab then copy and paste both paragraphs
into the dialog box that appears then select replace all to replace the
fifth paragraph with the first then from then in the same dialog box
copy out the fifth paragraph and replace it for the first.

vi. State the difference between right text and fully justified text? (1 mark)
Possible answer:
 Difference is right text is text that has been shifted to the right side
margin; while fully justified text is text that has been aligned on both
left and right sides.

vii. In the event that you a word document that contains 8 paragraphs on one page.
State the most efficient way to make paragraphs 4 – 8 as page two of that
document? (1 mark)
Possible answer:
 Place the cursor at the beginning of paragraph 4 and select page break
from the insert tab.

viii. In the event that you want to print the content of a page across the length of the
paper. State how you would print the document? (1 mark)
Possible answer:
 Change the page orientation the landscape and select print.

i. Write the cell addresses for 230, 150, Processor, and 210. (5 marks)
Possible answer:
 230 – D2; 150 – B4; Processor – A6; 210 – D4/E2.

ii. Correctly write the range that contains the number of computer parts. (1 mark)
Possible answer:
 Range = A7.

iii. What is the purpose of using the $ in a cell, for example $C$5. (1 mark)
Possible answer:
 Absolute cell referencing.

iv. Identify the errors in the spreadsheet file by naming the cells with the errors.
(a) Name the cells with the errors (1 mark)
Possible answer:
 B6; D3.

(b) State why these errors occur (1 mark)


Possible answer:
 B6 – syntax error in formula or function; D3 – cell is not wide enough to
display the figure.

(c) State how would you correct each error (2 marks)

 B6 – check the logic or spelling of the formula or function; D3 – widen
the cell.

v. How would you change the value in cell C4 from 145 to 201? (1 mark)
Possible answer:
 Select cell C4 then type in 201; or select cell C4 then type in 201 into the
formula bar.

vi. What formulae would you use to calculate the total sale in cell G7? (1 mark)
Possible answer:
 =sum(B7:E7)

vii. How would you centre align the title YEARS OF SALES. (1 mark)
Possible answer:
 Select the cell and select center align in the home tab.

viii. State the formulae that you would use to calculate the total number of sale for
DVD Drives. (1 mark)
Possible answer:
 =sum(B3:E3)

ix. A formulae was entered in cell C7 to find the total. However, the contents in cell
C4 was changed. What happen to the value in cell C7? (1 mark)
Possible answer:
 The value of C7 would change (decrease or increase)

x. State how you would format all the value to represent money. (1 mark)
Possible answer:
 Shade all numbers right click on the mouse on the shaded area, choose
format cell, select currency in the number tab;
 Shade all the numbers, press the application key, choose format cells,
select currency in the number tab;
 Shade all the numbers, the select currency from the number tab in the
home tab

3. Complete the following Database Management System Activities:

The National Youth Service recruit participants every year. The programme would like to keep
track of the participants. They would like to keep track of the follow data; first name, last name,
identification number, camp applied for, gender and subjects.

I. How would you add another field to the table, how would you do this? (2 marks)

 Go into table design view place the cursor on a new line, enter field name, set field type
and field size then save the table.

II. List FOUR data type that are found in a Database Management System. (4 marks)
Possible answer:
 Text, memo, number, currency, date/time, yes/no, auto number, OLE object, hyperlink,
attachment, calculated, lookup wizard

III. State which function of a database that would be appropriate for a company to enter
data into the database table? (1 mark)
Possible answer:
 SQL server

IV. Create a table structure that shows the Participants Information. The table structure
should display the field names, data types and field size of each of the following: first
name, last name, identification number, camp applied for, gender and subjects.
