disrespectful to base a person’s work ethic and value on this alone. In many cases, the transcript
can refer so much information, yes, but the events of life cannot be stamped in such a database.
My personal transcript does reflect me to a certain extent. I would definitely say that there are
some great aspects of me that is not reflected onto my transcript, but my first 3 years of GPA did
display how I grew to adapt to the work; what it fails to show are the hardships I’ve gone
through during my senior year. I believe myself to be a very benevolent natured and spontaneous
character. I’ve explored my abilities, my endless limits, and hidden skills that I’ve learned to
understand. With that, I’ve also come to understand the rigorous standard life has set for me, and
Coming into high school, I assumed the academic standards would be fairly similar.
Seeing that I had graduated with an excellent GPA in middle school, high school couldn’t
possibly be that hard. During my first year at Merced high, I had earned my first C letter grade. I
was completely mortified. An unfortunate event but the next semester I had graduated with a
better grade. Since then, I’ve gradually adapted to the grading system and amount of work
required to succeed in high school. Entering both my sophomore and junior year, I was more
prepared for the workload and passed all my class. Though I can’t say the same for my senior
year of high school. In the beginning of my senior year, my family faced some difficulties that
expectations to meet, rules to follow, children and chores to be taken care of. All factors which
need to be taken into consideration along with school, social life, and everything around. In
2018, my family was faced with a very strenuous situation that forced me to put my academics to
a halt in order to care for my family’s well being. As a result, my grades in my senior year of
high school dropped tremendously. Yes, my transcript does reflect a lot of my academic
character but there are also hidden stories inconspicuous to other’s eyes. Though I am not
completely content with the way my senior year unfolded, I will forever be thankful for such
experience of learning, not just within school, but a learning experience for life.
