Ford motors is one of the leading brands operating in auto sector, the organization is producing

high tech vehicles. The ethical issues associated with its operations are relating to environment.
As the auto vehicles contribute a lot in carbon level in the air, the organization is required by
ethics to develop the vehicles with more green technology. Ford is regarded as the most ethical
organization, because of its care for stakeholders, care for environment. “In a news release, Ford
said its “commitment to ethics is evident in programs aimed at monitoring human rights and safe
working conditions, sourcing conflict-free minerals, to programs such as the Partnership for a
Cleaner Environment, which is aimed at encouraging sustainability through Ford’s supply
chain.”(Jensen, n.d.)

Ethical philosophy is improving the business image, this means that society is viewing the
ethical organizations with honor and have more tendency to interact with such organizations. The
organizations that are only concerned towards their short-term objectives of revenue growth and
in enhancing their profitability are having more ethical issues than the organizations like Ford
Motors who have considered the good corporate practices and social responsibility as core part
of their business manifesto.

Organizations that have problem in their management, where ethical practices are not given
importance have lost their social image. A recent sexual harassment scandal at 21st century Fox.
The scandal proved a humiliation for the company. A lawsuit filed against the administration of
the company. “Still, the news was upsetting to shareholders who considered the multiple
allegations a sign of a company culture that allowed for sexual harassment. Adding fuel
to the fire: Fox reportedly knew of the claims against O’Reilly when it decided to give
him a new contract in January.”(“The 10 Biggest Business Scandals of 2017,” n.d.)

The news like this prove a source of humiliation for the business, lawsuits against the
business prove a source of trouble, ruin the public image of the business, questions the
corporate ethical practices of the businesses. Two comparative companies, one is being
rewarded for good practices, have high index of its employee’s confidence, have better
social image, it is ford motors, whereas 21 st century fox is facing a lawsuit by its
employee, showing the poor culture and ethical practices of the company, it has lowered
the stakeholder’s confidence, that is not good for the company in the long run.
