Anti-Noise Ordinance

Be it ordained by the Municipal board of the City of Iligan that:

Section 1. – It shall be unlawful for any person to willfully cause loud, blaring and
deafening noise or blasts of engines either of motor vehicles or of factory or shop
machines or of any other noise anywhere within the city of Iligan between the hours of
ten o’clock post meridiem until six o’clock ante meridiem of the following day; except
when exemption is granted by the City Mayor in cases where work has to be finished at
the earliest possible time.

Section 2. – It shall be prohibited for any person to willfully shout boisterously or to sing
loudly so as to make a commotion and virtually disturb the peace of the night in any
place within the limits of the City of Iligan during the nocturnal hours between ten o’clock
post meridiem up to six o’clock ante meridiem of the following day.

Section 3.- Serenading and caroling between the hours of twelve o’clock midnight to six
o’clock in the morning are likewise prohibited within the limits of the City of Iligan.

Section 4.- It shall be unlawful for any store owner, home-owner or theater owner to
cause loud, blaring and deafening blast of loud speakers or other public address
systems at anytime within the City of Iligan.

Section 5.- Loud and deafening noises are likewise prohibited within a radius of one
hundred (100) meters from any schools, during school hours, and from any hospitals or
churches at any time, within the City of Iligan.

Section 6.- Indiscriminate and prolonged loud tooting of horns of motor vehicles at
anytime are likewise prohibited within the limits of the poblacion of Iligan City.

Section 7. – Violation of any of the provisions of this ordinance shall be punished with a
fine of not more than ________, or by imprisonment of not more than _______, or both
such fine and imprisonment in the discretion of the court; provided, that where the
violation is done by a partnership, corporation, firm or association, the manager or
person directing its operation shall be held responsible therefore.

Section 8.- This ordinance shall take effect upon its approval.
