Q.1 Express your like or dislike about the following using different words for
example like, adore, fond, dislike, hate, abhor, loath etc. Read Unit 1 of your
textbook for further guidance. Follow the

Q.4 In Unit 3 of your text book; you have learnt how to give instructions to others
about different things. Look at the map given below and write a few sentences
giving direction to the sailor of the ship for reaching the treasure chest. Instruct
about the route and the dangers that can be encountered on the way.
First go straight on south direction, on few distances you can see giant skull on right hand and pirate flag
on left hand. You need to go straight until you will see a volcano at center of way. On that spot you will
need to be decided left or right turn but both ways end on temper. Right turn has a long distanced to
the treasure chest along giant bomb, a giant bear and a giant snake. Left turn has a small distanced to
the treasure chest along pirates, pirate’s leader and a giant lion. Treasure chest is behind on the temper.

Q.5 Write a personal letter to your sister telling her about hostel life. Follow
the format of writing an
informal letter given in Unit 3 of your textbook. (15)

Dear Sister,

I received your loving letter three days ago, but because of my preoccupation in making
preparations for the cultural function held in our hostel, I could not spare time to reply you earlier.

However, I feel please in informing you that I stood first in the singing competition and our team stood
second in the folk dance competition held during the said cultural function programme. As I am staying
in the hostel, I am devoting more than two hours daily, in improving my General Knowledge and
General Awareness, in addition to my course studies. Our hostel is a very good. Most of the in-mates
here are well disciplined and sincere. Our hostel warden Mrs. Ayesha Khan, is a very strict, yet caring
lady. She keeps close watch on every student. All the hostel in-mates are required to attend the
morning and evening prayers daily and attendance is marked both the time.

The quality of food served here, is very good, consisting of two well cooked vegetables, curd and salad,
with tawa chapattis, rice and a sweet dish. Breakfast is served at 8 am, after that I go to school. We take
lunch at 12 pm and the dinner is served from 7 pm to 9 pm. In the evening, we usually play games like-
badminton, table tennis, etc. in the hostel playground from 4 pm to 6 pm. As such, I find this hostel well
maintained and well run. Here, emphasis is given on character and career building.

words).

Long ago. There was a kingdom. The people were thrilled with their king ruling. Once the King traveled
by foot, his historical and pilgrim centres.

When the king returned, he was happy, but he had one regret that he had a pain in his feet. King called
and ordered his servant to cover the roads in the country with leather.

A wise minister give better advice that “Instead of covering the roads with leather, why don’t you have a
piece of leather cut in an appropriate shape to cover your feet?”

The king surprised, He ordered a pair of leather shoes for all kingdom.

Moral: Instead of trying to change the world, we should try to change ourselves.
