RECOUNT - A Holiday in Cameron Highlands

During last weekend,my parents decided to take us to Cameron Highlands.In
the morning,we packed our clothes and loaded them into my father's car.We hit the
road at 7 a.m. in my father's Suzuki Swift.
The road to Cameron Highlands was crooked and my mother was a
bit lightheaded.The road was filled with fog.The scenery along the road was eye
pleasing.We chit-chatted along the way.After a five hours drive,we arrived at our
destination.Cameron Highland has cool mountain air.Although our country is facing
haze problem now,the air there was still free from pollution.It is a form escapism
from all the hustle and bustle of the city life - translating into another dimension of
peace and serenity.
First,we visited to the bee farm.We could see bees flying freely and
pollinating.We could purchased some pure honey and honey products sold
there.At first,I was scared to see the bees flying freely as I thought it would sting us
but soon I realised that they wouldn't sting us if we didn't disturb them.Then,we
moved to our second location.
Our second location was the Boh Tea Plantation.The teas were planted on
terraced hill slopes.We also did not miss the chance to take some screenshots
there.We also saw a waterfall there.The sound of water cascading from the top of
the mountain was soothing to our ears and nerves.We were mesmerised by the
crystal clear water.Our warm bodies chilled when the cold mountain water
caressed our body.As we were enjoying the waterfall,it started to rain and we
dashed to find a spot to take shelter.
After the heavy downpour,we decided to stop at one of the many strawberry
parks in Cameron Highlands.Before leaving the tea plantation,we made sure to
buy some fresh tea.We decided to visit the Big Red Strawberry Farm.A lot of
strawberries were cultivated there.Salad and lettuce plants are also planted
there.We had our tea time there.We bought some strawberries and souvenirs to
take back home.
Amy was a very honest and well-mannered girl.She got along very well with
her classmates but an unfortunate event occurred in her life.During last
Friday,Amy and the other girls attended netball practise in their school.All the
players left their belongings in the empty room.This what they usually do
during the practise.
After practising for about thirty minutes,the girls were exhausted and
decided to take a break.During the break,Amy volunteered to get the water
bottles to quench their thirst.Everyone agreed with her opinion.She went to
the class and brought them their water bottles.After the break,they continued
their practice.
After the netball practice,all of the girls returned to their class.Anis found
out that her phone is missing from her bag.Without hesitation,she said that
Amy stole her handphone.She accused Amy of stealing it.
Amy was quite shocked after hearing that.She denied that she did not steal
Anis's handphone.Anis's rude action drove her up the wall.All her classmates
had turn against her and her explanation fall on deaf ear to Anis.At that
moment,she lost everyone's trust.She left the classroom crying.She was sad
with Anis's words.
The next day,Anis came to Amy and apologised for being so rude to her.She
really regretted with her clumsy action.Amy became speechless after hearing
her apology.Actually,Anis left her phone at home.Amy accepted Anis's
apology but the accusation put a strain on their friendship.

As the sun slowly set under the horizon,we knew it was time to say goodbye to
this awesome place.We had a whale of a time in Cameron Highlands and we truly
enjoyed ourselves.

Article - Ways to Prevent Dengue
Recent statistics of dengue cases and fatalities in Malaysia are ringing alarm
bells across the country.The number of deaths has doubled from five deaths in
2013 to 10 deaths in 2014, all within the same period.The mosquito that is
responsible for transmitting the virus,Aedes aegypti, is living amongst
us.Therefore, drastic measures are needed to squash this dengue menace from
spreading and causing more deaths in Malaysia.
First and foremost,don't leave stagnant water in flower pots.Don't leave empty
flower pots in upright position.Put some larvae insecticide in potted plants.Rear
some fish in stagnant pond to control the population of mosquito larvae.We can
also hold gotong-royong activities to clean up our housing area.We can co-operate
with our neighbours to destroy the breeding spots of mosquitoes,especially the
drains and piles of rubbish.We should also clean the flower pots regularly.
Secondly,government and other non-government authorities(NGOs) can play
their role by holding campaigns.The anti-dengue campaigns can be held to bring
awareness to the public on the dangers of dengue and ways to prevent
it.Furthermore,they should also inspect housing areas which have a high risk of
dengue fever.Government should fine those who throw rubbish into river and
indiscriminately.As a result, thrown rubbish will end up clogging up drains and this
will give an opportunity for mosquitoes to breed.
Next,government should implement stringent laws. Such as, fining irresponsible
house contractors who leave building materials unattended.Public Works
Department also should repair roads which have potholes.These roads can hold
water when it rains.Government should regulate rubbish collection in a more
proper manner. Rubbish disposal areas should not be left unattended.This will give
the Aedes mosquito an opportunity to breed.
In conclusion,dengue fever can be greatly reduced when the public takes
heed and co-operates with government bodies to eradicate the dengue
menace.As the saying goes,“Prevention is better than cure”.

PT3 Essay - Picnic at seaside
During the last school holidays,my parents decided to bring us for a picnic at
the seaside.We hit the road at 8 a.m.Before leaving,we prepared all the things
that was needed for the picnic.After a half an hour drive,we arrived at Teluk
Batik beach.We could feel the smell of salty water as we stepped onto the
beach.There were many people when we arrived there.
Soon,we decided to look for a suitable picnic spot.We decided to spread our
mat under a shady tree.My brother and I lost our patient and had changed
into our swimming trunks.My brother who was still a beginner in swimming
swam with the help of a float.We jumped into the crystal clear seawater.Our
warm body chilled when the cold sea water touches our body.The sea water
was savoury!We enjoyed ourselves splashing each other.We were on cloud
nine at that moment.
After we were exhausted,we returned to the seashore.We enjoyed the
beautiful panoramic scenery of the blue water.The sight of the white foam on
the shore was eye pleasing.I took out a canned of carbonated drink to quench
my thirst.After that,my mother took out the food we had brought.We made
our own sandwiches from the sardine cans and sliced the bread.
My sister and brother decided to build sandcastles while my parents and I
enjoyed the sea breeze.Soon enough,we decided to play beach volleyball.My
brother,sister and I were in a team while my parents were in another
team.The match was exciting because the loser would be punished.The match
came to an end.We lost out to my parents.Luckily,my parents only punished
us to pack the things before leaving.
We decided to leave the exciting place at dusk.Before leaving,we made sure

this leads to many chronic diseases among the consumers especially children.You can also
save up more money by eating fruits and vegetables.
In addition to this,including fruits and vegetables in our daily diet will make you feel
energetic and active.You will feel more energetic the whole day.This will make you more
active in sports and keep you away from a sedentary lifestyle which will lead to many
diseases.In other words,eating fruits and vegetables reduces your chances of getting
diseases and make you more healthy.
In a nutshell,fruits and vegetables play a significant role in our daily diet.As a
consumer,we should consume more greens and fruits by prioritizing their nutrition not
