COURSES OFFERED AT FACULTY OF SCIENCE
This is a graduate degree programme of three years (six semesters) duration and comprises of 144
Credits. Each year will be divided into two semesters.
CREDIT SYSTEM
A student of B.Sc. (Hons) Programme, under Choice Based Credit System, is required to choose three
types of courses viz., Core (Principal and Subsidiary) courses, Elective courses and Foundation
courses. Core (Principal) subject is the subject in which the student will be awarded B. Sc. (Hons.)
degree after successfully earning 144 Credits. A theory course requiring instructions of 1 hour per week
per semester is considered as ONE CREDIT theory course. In case of practical course, ONE CREDIT
requires 2 hours’ laboratory teaching per week per semester.
GENERAL INFORMATION
The homepage of MSU Baroda website www.msubaroda.ac.in provides link for Admissions. The link
leads to the page containing general information related to admissions at MSU. The Online Application
Form Filling will open two days after the results of 12th Std. Science stream of Gujarat Board is declared.
Here the student has to select Faculty of Science → select B.Sc. (Hons) Programme: two options will be
shown:
The student should select whether she/he is interested to apply for:
a. Regular Payment (Grant-In-Aid) BSC (Hons) in Botany, Chemistry, Geography,
Geology, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics and Zoology at Faculty of Science Main
Campus, Vadodara
OR
b. Higher Payment (Self Finance) BSC (Hons) in Botany, Chemistry, Mathematics,
Physics, & Zoology and Regular Payment (Grant-In-Aid) BSC (Hons) in Mathematics at
Shri M K Amin Arts and Science College and College of Commerce, Padra
1. REGISTRATION
The student should register on the website filling required details. Once the student’s personal
information is filled and verified by the student, an ID and Password would be generated online and
messaged to the registered mobile number of the student. This ID and Password should be kept

At Faculty of Science, Vadodara: A student of BSC (Hons) Programme under Choice Based Credit
System is required to choose a combination of three subjects in BSC-I. The admission is
granted purely on merit of three science subject theory marks at 12th Std. All the three
subjects have equal credits and hence any one of these three subjects can be selected as
Principal subject in BSC-II (Semester III). The allotment of principal subject will be on the basis
of BSC-I (Semester I and II) CGPA merit.
At MK Amin College of Arts and Science & College of Commerce, Padra: A student of BSC (Hons)
Programme under Choice Based Credit System is required to choose a combination of three
subjects in BSC-I. The admission is granted purely on merit of three science subject theory

(Semester I), hence any one of these three subjects of the combination can be selected as
Principal subject in BSC-I (Semester I) itself. The allotment of principal subject will be on the
basis of the merit of 12th Std. only. The student will continue with this Principal subject till the
entire course of BSC.
Those students who have applied both at FoS and MKA will be considered for both the Merit

has paid the required fees then the name of the student from the other merit list will be
automatically deleted and in any case, a change in admission from FoS to MKA or vise-versa will
NOT BE GIVEN.
2. CREDIT DISTRIBUTION
