INTRODUCTION
A case study is a person, group or situation that has been studied. It is an
intensive study of a case which may be an individual, an institution, a system, a
community, an organization, an event, or even the entire culture. Case study is not a
method of data collection, rather it is a research strategy, or an empirical inquiry
that investigation a contemporary phenomenon by using multiple sources of
evidence.

Some writers like bell (1993) and Blaxter (1996) have suggested that case
studies are suitable for single person research on a limited budget and that the study
are suitable for single person research on a limited budget and that the study of one
case provides a manageable opportunity for the research study of one aspect of the
problem in some depth within a limited time. Cases studies have been used for
various purposes- descriptive explanatory and explanatory research and also to
generate theory.

Case studies can be produced by following a formal research method. These

case studies are likely to appear in formal research venues, as journals and
professional conferences, rather than popular works. The resulting body of case
study research has a prominent place in many disciplines, anthropology, sociology

MEANS OF DATA COLLECTION
Interview is a conversation where question are asked and answer are give. In
common parlance, the word “interview” refers to a one –on one conversation with
one person acting in the role the interviewer asks question, the interviewee
responds, with participants talking turn talking. Interviewers usually involve a
transfer of information from interviewee to interviewer, which is usually the
primary purpose of the interviews, although information transfers can happen in
both directions simultaneously. One can contrast an interview which involves
bi-directional communication with a one day flow of information such as a speech or
oration. Interview usually takes place fact to face and in person.

For collecting the data of the present study both primary and secondary source is
used. Through primary sources and interview method and a school record is used. A
simple and clear question is asked to student and the student did not hesitate to
answer on the question asked during the interview.

Through secondary source the information about the topic has been collected
from book and internet.
Following are the question used for the study on the basic which the case
study is done:-

1. What are the economic background and home environment that makes the
subject as academic backward student?
2. The investigation asks question regarding his difficulties in learning.

5. Ask about his aim in life.
6. Investigator asks question why he is poorer in the subject like mathematics,
science and English.
7. Ask question why the subject does not listen carefully when teacher teaching in
the class.

4
INTERPETATION OF DATA
Interpretation is the process of making sense of numerical data that has been collected,
analyzed, and presented. It is the process of assigning meaning to the collected
information and determine the conclusion significance and implications of the findings.

1. Interpretation of data by interview methods:-

Interview is a verbal questioning. It is a conversation with clear question has been

asked to selected student in order to get all his personal and academic information as
the subject is from a economically backward family his parent could not afford his need
. they could not afford to buy the learning material and other essential things due to the
financial problem they could not afford medical treatment for their son. He needs
exceptional level of care and related costs which is hardly possible to afford for a family
below the poverty line. He is residing in their family. It is found that he is unable to
attend school as he is physically weak and suffering from health issue.

Through the interview it is found that from class VI to class VIII he has been
studying in Sukapha M.E School which is 1 km from his residence.

2. Interpretation of data by school record:-

Through school record it comes to know that Dipankar Saikia is weak in various
subjects like Hindi, mathematics and general science. Apart from those subjects he is
also weak in spelling, sentences and grammar formation. This shows that he is
