Implementing Learning F D C B A
Comments:
10:40 Good Morning KG2-7 – Today is Monday – What is tomorrow? Days of the week…Lets
review the colors – yellow-blue…. Count from 1-20 – Now we will song of sounds. Today we
will learn about the letter L. What is the sound of this letter…LLLL – Before we start reading
the book we will see some pictures inside this box and I will only choose the good boys and
girls. Leaf (maybe next time try to bring in real objects) lock…What’s the point of the box
exactly – Maybe before you start you could ask the students to guess what they think will be
in the box (critical thinking) – then ask the students to turn and talk and discuss what they
think is in the box (communication). What is this – something we put in the salad – (lettuce)
10:48 – Now we will read the book – Student reading the story – Can you see the patterns on
the lollipop – Raise your hand and have a magic pen – we will write the letter L in air – You
showed them how to write the letter L in the air – then had them practice all together – after
you asked some students to write on the white board. 10:52 Now I will tell you what you will
do in the centers.
Art Center - You will make different animals – Lion – ladybug – Draw an
Lollipop center – make lollipops
Problem solving – We have many animals from many different places in the UAE – we need
to sort the animals in different places to live.
Checklist – missing beginning sounds. – go around the class
Separated groups – no one will start until we start together
Focus group – We will read the sentences and write them – Can we read the words here first
- - maybe try to hide the picture to see if students are still able to read the words – Show me
what are you are writing – The check list – spelling – you wrote chick list – you also put lambs
for one lamb.
Walked around to the different centers to ensure students are engaged in the learning.
Differentiated activities – Students are engaged in the centers
11:24 clean up
KG 2 – thank you for the good work today –
Students received class dojo points
Students share their work
Students are asked to show their friends what they have done – using full sentences
Piece of paper and circle the letter L – how does this activity meet the learning outcome of
today. It’s a good idea – but maybe have them find words which would probably be too
difficult for them. Student can recognize the Letter L with the exit ticket – but it should be
about the sound – maybe next time use the different pictures and they have to circle just the
ones that begin with the letter L.
